HW new waterslide ZINGA

Zinga being a new prototype for waterslides, does anyone think it will be really awesome or just another waterslide?

Wes - you haven't ridden Zoombabwe, have you? If so you wouldn't be asking that ;)

Yeah, first time I've ever gotten air on a waterslide. Zoombawe was a highlight last SRM.

I have been on the similar (though a lot smaller and no rafts) "toilet bowls" and they are a lot of fun.

I certainly don't think it will be "just another waterslide." I'd imagine it will be a waterslide beginning that heads into a skateboard/rollerblade type vert where you will fly up the walls back and forth which will be an outstanding finale.

The below statement is true.
The above statement is false.

No kidding, Jeff...Zoombabwe scared the crap outta me the first few times I rode it. I expect since some of Zinga is in the dark that I'll feel the same.

We *PACKED* our rafts of Zoombabwe, and it is THE raft ride for airtime....we were falling all over like bowling pins, surprised we all came down *in* the raft...:)

From my SRM trip report last year:

"I boarded my first raft with Tony Milano and Mike Sterling. I realized with horror as we entered the tunnel that I was facing backwards and that I was the heaviest person on the raft. And then it all went black. The tube of this ride is so utterly dark you might as well have your eyes closed. We began picking up serious speed, and then the raft climbed the wall with great force! Around and around we went, faster and faster. I knew we were near the bottom and was watching for the light so I could brace for the water impact, when all of a sudden it felt like we went straight down! This next to last drop is only about 20 feet at approximately a 20 degree angle, but it felt like 50 feet at a 60 degree angle. Truly terrifying. We then went extremely high up on the next curve, and I thought the raft was going to fold over. I was also half expecting us to bend the space/time continuum at this point, as we were near warp speed! We then hit the water with a mighty splash and a hearty "Oh my god, let's do that again!", which we did, to the tune of 4 more rides. This is absolutely the wildest and best water ride I have ever done, and, once again, Holiday World proves that anything worth doing is worth doing right."

If it's being built at Holiday World, it's probably not "just another waterslide". ;-)

...and this differs from your *normal luggage* HOW exactly...;)

I rode Zoombabwee with three others of various sizes. Most of us being large. 3 large people and one medium person make the thing go crazy! Yikes! Now they have a three adult maximum rule.

Leave it to a bunch of ACErs to find out *exactly* where the line needs to be drawn between fun and danger, huh...;)

Depends, Gator.

Zoombabwee is just awesome I know, the faces glowing on the walls was a very nice touch, Zinga will be a new experience. High speeds and a high banked funnel. I think it should be a very unique experience.
Is Zoombabwe a much better ride than Zoom Flume at Cedar Point's Soak City?

What Gator is reffering to, is there were a few incidents during the SRM ERT on ZoomBabWe that demonstrated the practical load limit on that slide if you don't want guests suffering injuries.

That being said, I'm a bit afraid to try it out again, and those newfangled cloverleaf tubes for Zinga, well I haven't quite made up my mind on those yet.

To lighten things up: Tha't an undocumented feature of ZoomBabWe - its the HTM or "Human Taco Mode", which comes from overloading the raft with one light side and three heavy sides such that the raft literally folds up inside the slide. (Unfortunately crashing riders into each other).

To reassure others and to demonstrate the responsiveness of Holiday World, I beleive a new safety rule was in place on the "Z" before the day ended, if not before the ERT ended.

As an aside, it's not the only after-the-fact safety rule I know of, remember the inagural cruise of the Mark Twain at Disneyland came perilously close to capsizing the faux riverboat, causeing a capacity limit to be set that survives to this day..

....and THAT being said, the mayor returns to the *scene of the crime* for still more of that SRM goodness....;). Man, I just love the Midwest!

But Dave, you can't let a bad experience shy you away from more ERT on the Holiday World Slides

Wow, 3 family waterslides for one park. Go Holiday World!
