HW Construction Update - Zinga's Funnel and Hallow

Hey all,

Bond and I just got back from playing at the park in front of Santa's Lodge
and swinging by Holiday World for a few construction pictures. Exterior
parts of Hallowswings are in the parking lot and not only have the funnel
parts arrived but it's structure is already rising above Splashin' Safari.
Go check out the pictures at www.negative-g.com when you get the chance!

Have Fun!

Paul Drabek

This ride is gonna be awsome. I'm so glad that Six Flags New England is building one too, that way I get to ride it!!!

Thanks for the update Paul!

I picked up a HW brochure the other day, and it showed a themed Zinga tower, maybe an African themeing. Is it really going to be themed, or was that just an artist's detail?

Not sure, I'll ask Paula and report back in my next update.

The brochure features an artist's rendering...it isn't based on an official design. We'll have flags and fog, but I don't have details on any additional theming.

Meanwhile, HallowSwings is going up this week--we'll direct our webcam that way this morning.

Thanks, Paula

Where exactly is HallowSwings going to be located? Is anything going to take Banshee's spot, I personally loved that spot between the Lewis and Clark Trail.

They have re-routed The Lewis and Clark Trail and Hallowswings is going to go in that general area.
Yeah, Vertigo. I'm glad too. Is the one at SFNE an exact clone, or a smaller version?

Zinga is 80-feet tall and I believe SFNE's version is 45-feet tall. The tunnel portion of our ride also includes a helix plus there will be fog at the bottom of the funnel.

Thanks, Paula

It's going up right now, if you'd like to check out our webcam. :) It is in the same location that the Banshee used to occupy. I believe, though, it will be facing the other direction, as we have a new walkway that connects Halloween with 4th of July. If you know the park well, picture this--halfway down Halloween Hill (where there were misters) the walkway cuts across to 4th of July, near the Hoosier Celebration Theater. The entrance to HallowSwings will be off the new walkway. And a portion of the Lewis & Clark Trail has been reworked, so the entire ride is south of the new walkway. The new "tracking" includes a bridge and a helix.

And that's no April Fool's joke! Paula

Yep, you're right, it is 45 feet.

Are they supposed to build an s&s tower also? I thought it was a 3 ride package for 2003?

The tower is installed crazy horse. Now the webcam is pointed at the site of the Hallowswings site! Cool!

Miss coastergames.net? Here is a good site.

Don't worry Paula, I'd never expect for old Riverside...SFNE to do such a fine job as you guys.

I just wont be back at Holiday World for atleast 4 years, (when I get enough ka-ching). Until then, I'm glad to atleast enjoy the new ride concept at a local...

Unless you can get Mr. Koch to send me some plane tickets ;)

There's a concept--Free Unlimited Airline Tickets!

May I ask where you're from, Vertigo? I grew up in New England, so I'm intrigued... (Quassy was my first park. :))

Total humiliation...I was about three and begged to ride the kiddie helicopters. Then I screamed bloody murder and they had to stop the ride and let me off.

Great start to my career, eh? :) Paula

I live in Ashland, next door to Fragminham if that's easier to identify. I actually grew up in Califronia, but moved from the heat wave to 2 feet of snow in 1999. My first park was sadly, Knowland Park, also known as the Oakland Zoo.

I have relatives in Lowell...not too far away. My grade school years were spent in Pittsfield. Long, long ago... :)
