And besides, I'm not driving from Florida to be removed from Holiday World. :)

I've stayed there twice, and both times they lost my reservation. The first time, they happened to have two extra rooms, no harm, no foul. The second time, they had one more room, so my wife and I had to sleep on a sofa bed with my brother and his wife.
The desk woman was incredibly rude and refused to help us find another hotel room or even to use the phone. When we got to the one remaining room, there were no sheets on the sofa bed. We called for them, and they were brought up more than an hour later, wadded into a garbage bag (remember, we were sleepy after a long day at HW). The same desk clerk also called us at 3 a.m. to tell us our car's dome light was on (it wasn't).
The last straw was when Holiday Inn corporate refused to comp the room. They gave us a 75% discount.
Result: Lifetime Holiday Inn boycott for four disgusted people.
We're considering the Days Inn Jasper for our June HW trip this year. It allows pets as well.

Which explains why I've been there. My almost 12-year old lab has seen his share of amusement parks. I hardly ever travel without him...though his days and trips are numbered now...

There are several bed and breakfasts in the area. Most coaster enthusiasts totally ignore bed and breakfasts, so there may still be some openings. Remember at all those facilities you get great breakfasts included with the room cost.
Yeah but there are none in Santa Claus. I think I'll fix that by opening one myself. Who's with me?!
Anyone have any idea what Santa's Lodge yearly average occupancy rate runs at? I'm trying to crunch the numbers on how profitable my B&B will be.

That's because their online reservation system is worthless: It's probably the only hotel I've ever seen that reserves some rooms for phone reservations only.
I stayed at the Baymont Inn in Dale last October, and it took them almost half an hour to retrieve my reservation, which I made online. They had to call the "central reservation system" to find it. The desk lady said "You shouldn't make reservations over the internet, most people call us to book a room." WTF?!
I might as well have stayed at the Motel 6 across the street - the one I eventually did stay in last week. Took no time to bring up my internet-booked reservation. Plus they even had free wireless internet!
Point being: next time you plan on staying in Dale, IN (rooms must be booked for HoliWood Nights already), be careful booking a room at the Baymont Inn!
