Huss sells a Giant Jump2 to Paramount Canada's Wonderland

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Following last year's installation of a Giant Top Spin and next year's installation of a Giant Frisbee at Paramount's Kings Island, Huss today issued a press release indicating that they'll install a Giant Jump2 at Paramount Canada's Wonderland. The new Giant Jump2 will open May 4. Huss has now sold three giant rides, all to Paramount Parks.

Vortexguy, why shouldn't they change the trains on Vortex? Whats the bigger problem?
Pretty cool, especially for this park, since Paramount tends to neglect them...

They shouldn't change the trains on Vortex because it's running fine as it is, there is no need for them. The major modifications that would be needed to use floorless trains would not be worth it, as it is still one of the most popular rides in the park. Besides that, I have heard that the same change on the Vampire has not helped that ride much at all. *** This post was edited by Vortexguy on 10/19/2002. ***

Hey Vortexguy, on one many of my numerous trips to PCW, Vortex was down for "preventive maintenance" and one could see workers using a cherry picker device to inspect one particular piece of track (the turn right before the helix over the water). This section happens to be host to some quite jolting vibrations and I was wondering if you knew what exactly they are up to?

Yes, I know exactly what they were up to... I know that ride better than my own car (or house, or anything else really).

However, I doubt it would be appreciated if I were to talk freely about such things. Sorry.

I have been going to wonderland for about 8 years now (4-6times a year) and Vortex is my favorite Coaster over Top Gun! Top Gun begin my second fav. Yes. Huss rides has really done well for them selfs, and I am really going to put myself on Pyclone and the new one "Sledge Hammer" They look amazing, but Pyclone looked to be to much for me...hey I am one the goes on Drop Zone for speech!. Looking forward to going even bigger in '03 -Takin' a trip to Paramount Carowinds as the coaster are some what higher then Wonderland and the Vortex at Carowinds would be wonderlands "Sky Flyer" -stand up. Take Care ya'll.

Roller Finatic! In Canada. I love roller coasters and look forward to visiting Cedar point in the 2003 season.

Sigh....another year at PCW, and yet another spin-n-barf ride.

Canada's Wonderland, ever since the fine folks at Viacom added it to their empire, has only seen the small flat rides. Theyre popular with PCW for two reasons; small footprint (space is at a premium), and they're cheap, which makes the Viacommunists happy.

PCW has not seen a roller coaster since 1995. Almost a full decade now.

PCW may have, on paper, 12 coasters, but only about 5 or so are worth mentioning; Minebuster, Wilde Beast, Ghoster Coaster, Bat, Vortex.

PCW has some coasters that are truly questionable; the Fly, Thunder Run, Top Gun, and the Skyrider. Tear 'em down I say and put in a hypercoaster!

Next year, you can bet your bottom dollar if PCW installs a new ride, itll be another variation on the spin-n-chuck concept.

Nuts to them. I didnt renew my Seasons Pass this year b/c of this. Build us a new coaster, PCW, and I'll be back.
