Hurricane Harbor (SFA) Construction Update

I'm pretty sure they sold beer in the water park ever since it's been open.

A day at the park is what you make it!

^I looked on the park map under the dining list & up til now CHS was the one & only eating establishment in the entire park that served any beer of any kind.

Anyone think they'll finally remove SE entirely this year to begin preparing that site for a new attraction soon? they sure could use an exciting new flat over there as opposed to that ugly fence that's been surrounding that site for the past three years now.

First of all, Sam is correct, the stand outside of Lucky Albratros and across from the stunt show does sell beer and I'm sure they sell beer in Skull Island. Second of all, please quit abbreviating. What the heck does CHS mean?

A day at the park is what you make it!

CHS=Crazyhorse saloon.

If I'm not mistaken the place across the midway from the wild west stunt show is part of Crazyhorse saloon, not too sure as I don't exactly pay attention to it when entering the area each & every time, now if it's a seperate vendor at an outdoor stand then that'd explain why it's not listed on the map at all.

Besides why should we be concerned over who is right or wrong as to where beer is sold in the park? after all we go for the rides & not the beer now don't we?

But DUDE, the way you right everything is like your words are SET IN STONE, and ABSOLUTE.

If you used phrases like "if memory serves me" or "I could be wrong, but" or "Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but" that would kinda indicate that you're not absotively posolutely 100% dead on and sure you know everything about the topic.

writing style is your biggest issue kiddo, I don't dislike you or anything, you just word things like you KNOW rather than you "might" know.

SAM

No wonder I messed up....I was using the 02 map instead of the 04 one, which after checking I'm willing to admit that Panda Express is among the other food outlets in the park serving beer.
Oh no! The vacation is over sooner than expected. Sam and BatwingFan are at it again!
Just wanted to let everyone know (and to stray from the argueing), Clint Novak from "In the Loop" recently interviewed Lahne Mattes-Curry, the Public Relations Manager for SFA, regarding the 2005 season. The complete interview can be found here, though there really isn't too much new:

http://www.coaster-net.com/news/articles.php?itemid=1492

Here are some of the parts that stick out to me:

"If you have been to the water park before you will not even recognize it."

"...there will be some new coats of paint on some of the rides."

It really sounds like they're going to give SFA's waterpark the same overall treatment that they did to SFNE's waterpark. If that's so, then the waterpark will have an overall more enjoyable atmosphere making it infinitely better than it is now. I guess we'll have to wait for opening day to really see. But here's a link to some pics of SFNE's redone waterpark to give you an idea of some of the elements we MIGHT see also come to SFA's waterpark. One thing I would like to see is a nice, redone enterance to Hurricane Harbor. A lighthouse or something similar like at SFNE would be great:

If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.

Sorry, but as long as he continues to give out bogus information, and word it like he KNOWS, i'll object!

It is funny how all these SFA threads turn into a Batwing Fan bashing. You'd think that he'd get the hint by now. ;)
I saw the in the loop article this morning & it definitely made for some interesting reading.
The interview definitely has me more excited. New paint is a good thing and a waterpark that may feel unfamiliar is pretty good also. Now if I can just find money to buy a season pass....
I'm most definitely looking forward to seeing fresh paint myself,JJ has needed it for quite a while now & even though I don't ride Mind Eraser anymore it'll still be great to look at it & see a fresh coat of teall & red instead of that faded pink & blue look it's had for the past few years.
All this sounds great, I am pleased that SFA is changing for the better. Now all we gotta do is wait and hope that their next step is adding new rides in the main park. I know that everyone keep asking for a floorless but I'd rather see a different coaster, something that SFGadv does not have. That way people will have to travel to largo for that specific ride, just like batwings, (but now they have superman:( ).

Its sad that SFA will not be open for spring break, at least not for the UM students. Awell, Imma be in florida anyways. :) *** Edited 3/10/2005 10:23:03 PM UTC by SFAmerica*** *** Edited 3/10/2005 10:24:41 PM UTC by SFAmerica***

Only one person is asking for a floorless. I think the rest of us would be happy to get whatever we get. I'm sure you realize their Superman is very different from our Batwing both are unique rides and a "true" enthusiast would travel to Great Adventure for that flyer just like one would travel to our park for our unique flyer.

Spring break is a week earlier this year, I'm sure the park would have opened if it the first week in April. The weather in late March is unpredictable and I believe that played a role in their decision.

A nice big stand up would be somewhat unique to the market even though PKD's had theirs for 19 years now.
Last season I made a few trips from GAdv's home area down to SFA. I did it for a few reasons.... good wood coasters and Superman. But I tell you what ride suprised me was Typhoon Sea Coaster... I didn't think that would have been that fun.

All of these rides... Gadv has no real equal of unless you want to compare Superman to Nitro.

No way is Rolling Thunder anywhere near Wild One or Roar in my book. *** Edited 3/11/2005 3:09:23 AM UTC by dragonoffrost***

Watch the tram car please....
Only one person is asking for a floorless Coasterguts? Where did you get that crap (no offense)? I would be overjoyed, estatic, elated etc. to get a floorless as good as Medusa NJ, or Superman Krypton Coaster. My friend also would like a floorless.
However, you would be happy with another coaster type as well, correct? On the other hand, one person has consistently said they want SFA to get a floorless. I think a floorless would be nice also, but I'm not going to rule out the possibility of anything else.

A day at the park is what you make it!

Well tops on my list would include a floorless but like I said a good stand up(we were supposed to get one a few years back)or mine train would do just as well.

Heck right now I wouldn't really mind one of those spinning coasters similar to the one going in at SFNE...just with a name other than MR.Six's Pandamonium.

The reasons for wanting a floorless are that the design & feel of the ride would just be so outragous for the park, you just gotta love the look of those B&M floorless trains & uniqueness of the whole boarding/dispatch procedure so it'd be sure to gain the attention of the locals if such a coaster were ever built at the park & it could have also have a real positive impact on their attendance levels as well.
