Does anyone know when this ride will open? I need an exact date, because my trip to Myrtle Beach will be cutting it very close.

I'm not sure when but I went to Myrtle Beach and it is an awesome place. I rode one roller coaster there, i forgot what it was called. It was Blue, not too tall, and it had only two corkscrews. It was allright but the chest protecter/bar doen't lock very good. You can push the bar up if you wanted to on the ride. Have fun PoppyBro
P.S. what hotel are you staying at?
The coaster you are taking about was called the Corkscrew. They had to remove it so they could put in the Hurricane.
Actually I am not staying at a hotel, I am staying with family that has a beach house at Ocean Isle. It is not far from Myrtle Beach at all, about 30 minutes.

It was supposed to open in April, but they got delayed on construction. Now it should be done no later than Labor Day . Enjoy MB, its a fun place!

Poppybro: the latest "official" opening date for the Hurricane was this past Saturday, May 6. Don't know if it did run - I hope it did, because the wife and I are kicking off our annual coaster blitz this Thursday (the 11th) in Myrtle Beach. But even if it's not up yet, there's another excellent coaster in MB at Family Kingdom - it's called the Swamp Fox, designed by John A. Miller, and has somewhat of a cult following. LOL....yeah, I meant Memorial Day, sorry i get confused between the two. As far as I have seen, The HURRICANE is now Open. Cant wait to go down and ride it sometime this summer!!
