Hulk or Kraken or Rockin Roller Coaster

Out of Orlando's three best coasters I'd like to know all of your favorites and how you rank them in order. I've been on each multiple times and my favorites go as Hulk, Kraken and Rockin Coaster. I may just be partial to Hulk since the first time I rode it was the second day IOA opened and there was no one there and I rode it so many times. I also had no idea about the launch and so you could amagine what that would be like for the first time. What more can I say about a B&M floorless with neat themeing. Rockin had cool theming but I got a major headbanging and it was weird since everything about it I heard was really smooth.

Well, if we were ranking the top three coasters in Orlando, Rockin' Roller Coaster sure wouldn't be in there. :) But, since you started the thread, I'll go along. I think Kraken is the best out of those three, because it is good throughout the entire ride. Hulk is second, because there are some spots that I don't really love, but the first four elements on Hulk are unbelievable. I think it's the ending that doesn't make it number one. And RnRC is just ok. Without the theming, I don't think I'd care much for it.

Those are my opinions on the three listed coasters. I will be back in Florida riding all those again in 18 days! Waahooo, see ya Illinois! ;)

"Legend 1 looks too intense for me."
Well I would have each of Dueling Dragons in this, but I wanted to have one coaster from each park in Orlando.

Hgre you go out of the main themer chains, these are the best coasters that they have in FL

HULK - Universal Parks
Rock'n'rollercoaster - Disney Parks
Kraken - Busch Parks

Well, since the question was what is your favorite out of Kraken, Hulk and RnRC, I will answer that (just mentioned that because I think Dragons should be in there). First of all, I have not ridden RnRC yet (I will in a few weeks) so I will leave it out.

And now, between Kraken and Hulk, I say the winner is Hulk, almost easily. Although Kraken is a great ride, I prefer Hulk anyday... Hulk is so amazing, IMO. Every part of the ride is great. Initial launch is top notch, the first huge inversions are amazing and the entire ride is non-stop and full of great speed and intensity. For some reason, however, Hulk just stands out in my mind. It has something to do with the whole IoA atmoshere and the area Hulk stands. I love it there so much. One of my biggest memories while riding Hulk is when I was going through the turn around the lauch tunnel where you kinda go over the midway, and I could smeel the pizza down below at the Cafe place. That was sweet.

I dunno, maybe it is just IoA itself that I love so much. One way I sometimes compare coasters is to use the "parking lot factor" Place each coaster in a massive parking lot with no themeing or anything, and which would I rather ride?? Hulk still wins for me.
My first ride on "Kraken" had to rate as one of the best steel coasters I've ridden. The mid-course brakes were off and the ride was awesome. Subsequent rides weren't as good (due to braking and high wind), and I feel the first drop lets the ride down. I prefer twisting drops (like Batman: Knight Flight).

"Hulk" was also amazing, the launch in the back row is so sweet, but the ride does fizzle out towards the end. Give it floorless cars and I'm sure it would be the best multielement coaster on the planet.

"RnRC" - what a disappoinment! Having to put up with that stupid Aerosmith studio scene everytime you ride it is really annoying. I also had far more headbanging on this ride than "Flight of Fear". Wouldn't even bother riding it again unless it was a walk-on.

What about the Dragons?

1) Kraken
2) Hulk
3) Fire Dragon
4) Ice Dragon
100) RnRC

Disney may have Mickey, but Blackpool's
Mouse is soooo much better.
I would concur with mostly everyone here. I found Kraken to be the better all around coaster over the Hulk. Kraken has a great layout, whereas The Hulk is great before the mid-course brakes, but kinda gets boring afterwards. Nevertheless, IMO the Hulk is really good, but Kraken is superior. Didnt ride RnR, because didnt have much interest in going to MGM.
1) Hulk
2) Kraken
3) Rockin Roller Coaster
Hulk is my #1 so it stays there on this list even though it does have a dead spot at the end the beginning makes it the best.
Kraken is a very close second though especially with the roll and when in the backseat.
Rock and Roller? The Launch was Fun!!!
Duelling Dragons deserves to be on this list.

One question though.
How could you not know about the Launch on Hulk Before you rode it?

-------------
#1 Steel-Incredible Hulk
#1 Wood--Timber Wolf
Like I said in a post above I just wanted to have a coaster from each park. IMO Both dragons are better than Rockin Roller Coaster. T-Wolf I had no idea about the launch because I was at the park on the second day it opened and didn't know a lot about of coasters then. Now i feel stupid I didnt know it then.

whats wrong with RnRC I thought it was a great ride. The only thing I thought was wrong with it was that it was way to short. But I would still put hulk first.
Gotta go Hulk, RockinRollerCoaster, Kraken, only because we rode Kraken right after the opening and it seemed a little tame. Some of the park folks admitted "all the brass" was there, and all the pressure was on.

Made me think they hadn't "let it loose" yet. But, we then found the last two cars and it wuz real sweet, so I might change my vote later (a FL ritual ;) ).

Do love Rockin', even though it's short. Something about that "blast-off into the dark" that really does it. Could be I just love the music and have Richfield Coliseum/Steve Tyler 70s flashbacks;).

Hey, Legendary, welcome back to Florida! Keep it over 54 inches, would ya? Not a tenth short! ;)

I would have to say
1.The Hulk
2.Dueling Dragons(Fire)
3.Dueling Dragons(Ice)
4 Rockin Roller Coaster
Hulks got my number one vote. The launch does it for me.Kraken is my number 2 vote. Its a great ride although its a little to quiet for my taste.Last but not least would be Rock n Rollercoaster.Theres nothing like being shot into total darkness while having Aerosmith blasting in your ears.
I'v never been there but my friend said RnRC was soo fun. My homtown park is SFGAm and I love Raging Bull, been on it at least 50 times. He said it was soo much better than RB. I don't really think it could have been that good. What do you think?

-------------
Six Flags Great America #1 Park!!!
Yeah Rock n Rollercoaster was fun.I think it could have been better.Exspecially after the launch and then the 3 inversions,it kinda dies out after that.
RollrCoastr00 - there are not many coasters that are "soo much better that RB". You are fortunate to be close enough to SFGAm to ride it that often.

RnRC may be good, but comparing a launched looper to a 200' twister is really an "apples and oranges thing anyway. *** This post was edited by Lifthill310 on 12/9/2000. ***
I've only ridden the Hulk which was in January this year. The lifthill of Kraken was finished when I was in Orlando. Rotten timing as I missed out on it and Goliath, not my fault - my family's!

Hulk was fun, but would've preferred Kraken as I've never ridden a Floorless and it looks awesome. Kumba is my top coaster for the meantime and with Kraken having a similar layout, should be good.

I had more fun riding Dueling Dragons than Hulk. IMO, the launch on Hulk kinda rushed the ride, I prefer traditional lifthill coasters. Plus the loop wasn't smooth and the last part of the ride a little bit dull.

RnR looks like a headbanger to me!

Brought to you by Australia's No. 1 Coaster Fan.
I have not had the pleasure of riding Hulk due to the 2 hour wait that day! But, I have riden Kraken and Rockin'Roller Coaster. Out of those two Kraken is way better. Although I enjoy RnRC.
Sure it is a little bit rough, but it is a tolerable roughness(unlike Phython at BGT or Hercules at Dorney). Plan to go on hulk this spring seeing how IOA is an hour and a half away from my house.
