HP finally gives us a name Nov. 5th

I just got a sweetmail saying that the long wait is over for the name of the Intamin launched coaster. But, we'll have to wait one more week until Nov. 5th at 7:30pm, when another sweetmail we'll be sent out, and the logo and name will be posted on the website.

Did anyone ever bother trying out the seats on the KMG Tango? And if so, were they male?
7:30? But I'll be watching Matrix Revolutions then! :)

PS: Has anyone have any pictures of construction?

The name is confirmed to be Storm Runner, for those who were wondering.

Several more recent construction pictures are here.

Oh you ruined the anticipation! ;-)

But then again I already knew it would "probably" be Storm Runner. ;-) At least I voted for it. lol.

Gimme speed, height, airtime and plenty of LAUNCH!!!

It's funny, I voted for it too, but I thought it would be the longshot.

"Storm Runner" is the only one that's trademarked to Hershey Entertainment, Hershey Park, or Hershey anything, according to the USPTO website. My bets are on Storm Runner.

Because only nerdly coaster dorks are going to go snooping around to find the name of the coaster? Ninety-nine per cent of the people who are going to be riding this thing are waiting for the name to be released on Hershey's Web site. Heck, even I was. I don't want the name given away.

'Storm Runner' will be your nickname when HERCO security chases you away at the sneak peak days when you show up wearing some t-shirt from a park that was closed 20 years ago.

And who posts 'darling' as their name. You think you are Tatum O'Neal or something. I pray to the anti-ACE gods that it has a different name so you and 'blast coaster' are condemed to riding only Flitzer's the rest of your lives.

I thought yesterday's Sweetmail was kind of funny...

Hershey was announcing the announcement that would officially announce the name of the new coaster which most people (on here at least) already know will probably be...

Of course, I won't be able to "sign on" to get the official name. 7:30pm is opening face-off for the Bears vs StJohns Maple Leafs game at GIANT Center, so that is where I will be.

Hmmmmm.... A coincidence? 7:30pm announcement... 7:30pm opening face off... promotion night is "Hersheypark Fan Appreciation Night" where every fan in attendance to the game receives a pass good for one admission to Hersheypark for the 2004 season (good up to July 4, 2004). Think the marketing powers that be may actually take advantage of the moment and tie the two "events" together?

Ninety-nine percent? You're joking, right?

In the real world, at least half of the people standing in line next year will say, "What's this a-thing-a-ma-bob called again?" and a third of those folks will buy t-shirts so they can point and say, " I rode this thing called...read that to me, will ya?"

Indifferent dollars spend just like geek dollars, except there's a lot more of it.

Is Storm Runner the best they can do? Blah!!! When they announce it I will believe it. Until then its an unnamed coaster.!

I'm highjacking every post! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):);)

Okay... they ARE getting smart and tieing the two together...

York Daily Record reports that just prior to the hockey game on Nov 5 the announcement will be made...

The last paragraph of the last section of the article is the only part that will interest most people on this board (though, personally, I think that once October hits... the most improtant things that happen in Hershey are on the ice of GIANT Center).

Storm Runner was/is my least fav. of the three potential names. I actually really liked Steel Stampede. I don't know how Storm Runner has any theming potential.

Steel Stampede is the best of the 3, hands down. Any rollercoaster with the word "steel" in the name makes it 2x better.
