How's the Gold Rusher at Kennywood?

I was just on the website...and as I have stated before, I am heading out to Kennywood...4 more days to be exact. I already asked how Noah's Ark is, but how is GoldRusher? It say's that it's a ride through a haunted mine. Is it a really good haunted house, or one that I will just have a lot of fun laughing in? Also, how is the quality of the theming?

KoЯn Rules! I just came out to feed!
I was at Kennywood in June, and found the Gold Rusher to be my least favorite of all of Kennywood's dark rides. That's not to say that it isn't fun, though. There are some humorous scenes, and it is still worth checking out.

You have to go on this ride. Kinda weird enterance but it's fun. I got kicked off it last time I went 2 years ago because I got out of the car and started walking on the track. And touched the little waterfall. It was fun. I gotta do that again next time I go. Hmmmmm. Well yeah, just go on it. AND DEFINATELY DON'T MISS the boat ride at the front of the park near the Turnpike. What's it called, dang man...well it's a boat ride, not scary at all but a famous landmark I belive.

The boat ride is The Old Mill.
Watch out for the giant spider!

The boat ride is The Old Mill.
SFMMFREAK, you shouldn't do that! I hope you get banned from the park the next time you do that.

The Gold Rusher is fun, and you should definitely ride it. Watch for the low-flying bats!
SFMMFREAK... you should not have only been kicked off the ride, but kicked out of the park as well.

Anyway, its not a scary dark ride, but it is FUN. (and after all, isn't that what matters?)

"I wasn't always this cynical, but then I started kindergarden..."
The ride is not scary, but you should check it out.
Gold Rusher kind of compares to the tameness of some of the Disney ride-throughs. In other words, if you're an adult, it probably won't scare you at all. SFMMFREAK did point out one important thing though, and that's that the lapbars don't lock. So if you have kids, keep an eye on them. It's worth checking out if you have the time. And when we rode it on Sunday, we were the only people waiting to get on in the evening.

The Gold Rusher isn't the greatest of dark rides, but it sure as hell is fun. After all these years, I still get scared of that giant spider.

If you want to see some of the theming, check Kennnywood Boulevard's gallery for behind the scenes pics.

Gold Rusher is a good dark ride that can be enjoyed by a whole family, much like the now defunct Pirate Ride at CP.

I'd walk through hell in a gasoline suit to keep riding roller coasters
The gold rusher is simply a fun ride. Yes it is tame to adults, but there are parts of it that are funny. I personally like the family of coyotes that stares at you when you move past them.

But whatever you do, don't miss Kennywood's Old Mill. This classic boat ride just turned the big 100 this year. It is tame as well--but classic!
