How's that Work?

I have heard that Ultra Twister at Six Flags AstroWorld, and other TOGO pipeline coasters, have stations that "move." How does this work, ( Pictures would be nice ) and what is the point of a "moving" station?

The UT I rode in Japan had no such thing. Though the cars might have been moving conveyor belt style like some wild mice do.

Peabody is correct. The station does not move. Cars move slowly through the loading platform and there is a conveyor belt at the same speed so riders can board. Imagine the boarding process on Haunted Mansion....

Ummm...never been on Haunted Mansion. How about ( RIP ) Phantom Theater at Paramount's Kings Island?

The Flying Coaster at SFEG also has the conveyor belt that moves through the station. However, it was shut down later in the season because it kept causing the ride to break down. Management decided that it was better to have no moving walkway and a more reliable ride than it was to have a moving walkway on a ride that kept breaking down. It was a very cool idea though.

The new S&S Arrow 4-Ds will have loading like this because of the significantly shorter trains.

The shorter trains are a great idea IMO.

So many of the problems with the 4d are the incredible weight of the trains.

The new design eliminates one of the X rails as well, correct?

And yes Phantom theatre or Thunder Canyon or White Water Landing are other good examples.

Yup. I don't remember the *walkway* moving on Flying Coaster, though. You just chased after the car and hopped in.

Ultratwister has a moveable mat that travels w/ the car, which also slowly moves through the station.
