How's Holiday World doing?

Has anyone been there recently?

Now that the Raven has reopened since the events during SRM weekend, I was curious as to how the park was doing attendance-wise. Are the people still coming like they were before, or has the accident turned them away?

I went to Holiday World yesterday and it was not very busy at all. The Raven was the least busiest ride in the park, all day there was no line. It's kind of hard to tell if the attendance is decreasing just yet. In July (busiest month) we should have a good idea.

I'll be there (with 80 odd other members of the RCCGB) tomorrow.

I went there Thursday, and there didn't seem to be any lack of visitors or change of atmosphere. I'd hazard a guess that they are fairly well back on their feet.

My first visit was SRM and I've been promoting the park since I got back. I know a few families that have never heard of the park before now planing on visiting this summer. Once they viewed Holiday World's website and saw what HW had to offer they were hooked! Can't think of a better park to promote!

Richard--

It was wonderful seeing our friends from "across the pond" again yesterday. The many proclamations of "brilliant" did my heart good. :)

Andy Hine, your fearless leader, traversed the park and made a point of shaking each employee's hand. The healing that took place yesterday--thanks to RCCGB's attitude, enthusiasm, and all around good cheer--was remarkable. And your accents sure are cute. :)

Now if only it would stop raining...

Come see us again soon! Paula

Wow! Paula, I am so happy to hear things are going well for the park considering what all has happened.

No matter what happens, you have a *very* extended family that apparently goes across the pond and back that will always support you and Holiday World.

You and your staff went the extra mile to assist my friend and I (over you know what and who) at SRM and I will never forget that.

Did I mention you ROCK?

:-)

Yep....I do the same. Most people around here haven't really heard of the park but I have managed to get a few people out there. I tell them the five hour drive is MORE than worth it. I just talked a good friend into going out there in July with her kids cause they are looking for something different to do. :-)

I keep telling more people about Holiday World too. Just because it is almost like a home away from home. It is truly one of those special places where people of all ages and all walks of life can truly have a good time together. There is just something magical about the place. Kind of what Disney used to be like when I was kid....Holiday World is now to me as an adult. That should say a lot about the park right there.

Of all of the parks I have been to Holiday World is number 1 in my books.

Looking forward to SRM 2004 (if there is one.) and if not then looking forward to being back there later this year (if I can help it) and next year irregardless. Trying to invite a TON of people to "caravan" to Holiday World. I have 2 confirmed so far besides me and my girlfriend. Asking at least 4 more people if they want to go....probably more!

Zero G Thrills - Moved and Improved

I went to Holiday World for the very first time yesterday. The very first thing I rode was the Raven because the line was so short. Little did I know the power of this ride. I got a little more air time than I expected. When I got off the ride there were a bunch of people waiting to kick me out of the park for the next five years for supposedly standing on the ride. Be carefull on this one now... they are very strict.

P.S. I didn't stand up!

Can you blame them? They did nothing wrong and got all the publicity for something that was out of their control! I would hope and expect them to be very strict on ride rules! Don't know what you were doing, if anything, wrong....But HW is in a no win situation! Sounds like you were just unforunate, but put yourself in their shoes!

Did you actually get thrown out?

I really don't blame them for their reaction. I think it is good that they are watching the coaster. At least you know that it won't happen again. Whether or not it was their fault. I didn't get thrown out. I just got air time. It wasn't even that much considering I had my lap bar all the way down.
That's good to hear. SRM was a blast. I will be there next year if there is another SRM.

Uhh, coastercat, I'm fairly sure he meant thrown out of the park...not the ride...
