How to Import Coasters!

Not sure if this was covered, if so, my apologies...

You can import wooden, inverted and the train rides..

1 - Simply drop any RCT2 .td6 file (haven't bothered with RCT1 yet) in your "Coaster Designs" folder.

2- When in the demo, bring up the ride icon, then on the very bottom of the row of ride icons, you will see one of those tools icons, click on it, and a list of imported coasters will appear.

..I originally thought to look in the actual coaster's little yellow folder where the demo coasters reside, but wasn't it.

Works like a charm, though some coasters may need tweaking, because of slight physics differences from what I can tell. *** Edited 9/29/2004 7:46:08 PM UTC by JCat***

Might I suggest scoring a few of KTS's classic woodie designs from CB Games and checking them out? :)

^^ Might I suggest the Giant Dipper, The Oceanview Bobs, and to a lesser extent, the Oceanview Twister, all found in Coasterbuzz games. You will have to run them at single train as the blocking seems to work a bit different in RCT3 and the trains will get stuck. Another problem is that if a train doesnt have enough speed to make it into the station (say it gets stopped on a block) it wont move on its own into the station like it did in RCT2. Hopefully thats something they fix or they put some kind of drive wheel option in to move the trains.

/me recommends RCTAndy's Sunset wooden coaster.

I might find myself designing the coasters for the game in rct2 then importing them, I seem to be able to build them a lot quicker in rct2.

I'm getting the problem of track not fitting properly. Dang it. I had a really sweet coaster that can't be recreated again and I was looking forward to riding it. Oh well.... anyone have any clues?

Yeah, some coastrs with a really long footprint will exceed all borders -- so they're useless in the demo. According to D. Barben of Frontier, official sanddbox in the full version is much larger then what we're dealing with right now.

Actually, that was supposed to say that the track doesn't connect properly, not that it doesn't fit on the map. Any help now?
