How to go about riding a coaster to set a record for time on one?

Michael,

Yes, that means riding twice without leaving the train. The rule was being enforced last Sunday on Adventure Express, Beast, and Vortex if I remember correctly.

Den,

I honestly don't think marathon riding is all that bad considering there have been many times where a marathoner has been paid some big bucks to do a long marathon on a coaster. If a park wants the publicity they will pay for it in a big way.

Don't sit downwind of them then. Sounds like a good place for a stick-up.

BT, I want to thank you for a good chuckle. I am still laughing out loud at the idea of YOU wanting to marathon SOB. It cracks me up (lol).

Are you human? Do you hate yourself? How could you, or anyone, actuially DESIRE to marathon SOB? I find it funny because I can not even conjure the thought of a SOB marathon (lol) from my colorful and vivid imagination.

Before you start, if it ever happens, I would hope you would let your doctor know beforehand so that he can reccomend to you that you don't. Also, see a shrink to make sure this isn't an unconscious attempt at suicide. (lol)

I mean no offense to you. I just don't understand you.

Understanding Beast Tamer is simple, Dex: He loves SOB and thinks Raven and Legend are pieces of sh!t. That speaks volumes...what more do you need to know? ;)

Um....no. Richard Rodriguez rode a coaster (I think it was Grand national) for like 6 months and barely got a whisper in the media here. Even the Boss stunt (which was for Charity!) didn't get much notice other than those who saw it at the park. He's a living legend, been doing these coaster stunts for like 20 years, and he's never been on the TOnight Show.

I wish he would post here...he'd be like "What..marathon on SOB? I wouldn't ride that jack-hammering POS twice!, and I did 4 months on the freaking Boss!"

A whole gaggle of people marathoned VF's WT last summer...and the only reason they got a little media coverage was the fact a Clear Channel radio station sponsored the contest.

A few weeks after the event, the contestants could wear their official shirts to the park without anyone giving a rat's hoohah.
