where there's a y'all, and there's a drawl.....IT'S THE SOUTH.
So the local hooters is considered the south? Even though it's in St. Louis?
For my money the south starts in Jefferson County, MO. That's the first county south of St. Louis County for those of you not in the know.
Your link says the same thing everyone else has been saying.

Rob - I tend to agree. Kentucky definitely screams south to me...but then again, I'm from the great white north. I'm excited to hear about your waterslide incident. At least I wasn't the only one thrown out of one of HW's slides. :)

When you come out of a tube less than halfway down the slide, you better get on, or get out, or somebody's feet are going to kick you in the head or back really hard, really soon.

I can safely say that the good folks at SFStL's Bandana's BBQ know their 'cue, but don't know nothin' 'bout makin' no sweet tea...
All drawl intended...and I'm from Joisey! :)
Oh, and while I look forward to the rest of this missive, I also kinda fear it....it's kinda like Voyage, addictive in a good way, but yet ya have to know your limit... ;)
Wish I'd been able to spend more time with Robbio, but he knows where to find me... :)

LOL I'll give ya that, gator. Seriously. I stopped near Geauga Lake last week on the way home from West Virginia (don't ask...) and had lunch at the Cracker Barrel. I about dropped the menu when they asked if I wanted sweet tea. I looove the stuff and nobody up here in Chi-town makes it. *pouty pout*
Nasai your TR's are way too entertaining. I eagerly await part 3!
Hey, what's wrong with West Virginia? ;-) Rob, you know I love you to death, and your TR's are classic! It was VERY nice seeing you again and I wished we could of spent more time together. It was a CRAZY weekend.
You forgot to mention the PG-rated *threesome* with Bill and I in the Voyage queue line. That was a definite highlight, at least for me. Never mind, I will include that in my TR once I get around to it. :-P
I was so glad to hear Tomoko was ok. I was worried there for a while. :-)
I consider the "South" anywhere south of me. ;-) West Virginia is kind of stuck in the middle. We are sorta South, sorta Midwest, and sorta Northeast. I think we are technically called "Mid-Atlantic."
Actually we don't know who we are. We just know we are technically "Yankees" since we seperated from Virginia (Yes, West Virginia IS a seperate state for all of you that are geographically challenged...;-)) during the Civil War. I scored 50/50 on the "How Yankee are you?" test. ;-)
Some of us have a *hicklish* drawl like me while others have more of a midwest accent, at least here in Charleston. Being that I lived in Philly for a while it sorta "de-hicked" me to where I say "hoagies" and "soda" and "you all" which is unheard of here.
Sweet tea is NOT a big thing here. That's more of a Southern thing, like grits. ;-)
And that your history lesson for today. ;-)

Nasai, if there is one thing I can be guaranteed, it's that even if I can't make a trip or event, I can feel like I'm there just from your trip reports. Although it's difficult to read them without making those awful noises that come from trying hold the laughter in so the co-workers don't know I'm goofing off.The best part of these trips is the friends and gatherings, and I'm sorry I had to miss this one.
I can't believe I missed this comment earlier.
You're so right, Linda. You were missed. A LOT. Glad you enjoy my reports. They're fun to write, and they're primarily for folks, like you, that missed out, but moreso, were missed. :)
