Nope. I could have seen some races, as there was one the day I went, but no. My wife is from Japan, and we were on a trip in the early spring of '98. They had just opened Mad Cobra, so we took off to go ride it, and I hit Blackout while there. The highlight of the trip was an entire group of very attractive "red-leather wearing" Marlboro girls, complete with freebie cigarettes! How sweet! Giving away free cigarettes to little kids, so Philip Morris can make the money back they are losing in the states. I guess getting the youth of Japan smoking is the next goal, as they think that's one of the many things that makes Americans cool.
Still, the girls were hot. Very hot. *gnaws knuckles* *** Edited 11/25/2003 4:24:47 AM UTC by nasai***
The Flying Turns makes all the right people wet - Gonch
I thought Flashback at SFMM was pretty cool. Yes it was rough, but the ride had perfect pacing and the forces were nice. Why is the helix butter smooth? That's also the only ride I've ever had the restraint pop up on me (happened 2 times in the second and third z-dives) but the OTSR stayed down, just the lapbar came up. Still weird feeling. *** Edited 11/25/2003 6:02:03 AM UTC by GoliathKills***

Batwing. OMG. Got my first, and preferably, only ride this last fall. That was enough for me. I have no need to ever ride it again. I thought X-flight was smooth as my wife's ass, compared to this jobber.-----------
Hah, I caught you using my word!! Or is that wrd, Danny? Looks like I might be going to Solace after all Rob, which is simultaneously good news and awful news.
In my opinion the rougest coaster I ever encountered was Hurricane at Rye Playand. Talk about a neck breaker!
Then again, not so much "roughness" as much as sudden direction changes that resulted in out right pain and torture.
Thunderbolt at KW cracked or bruised a rib. Too rough? NO!
Cyclone at CI is another bruiser, too rough? Again, NO!
Am I a masochist? Mmmmm...

Oh, that's too bad. F1 is probably my only love above roller coasters...there's something about those monsters that makes my heart skip a beat. Hearing the banshee-like howl of the engines, knowing that *every* corner exit means Xcelerator-equaling acceleration....it makes me a happy boy. And yes, the Japanese race-mascot type women can be ridiculously attractive.
My favorite, though, along the lines of tobacco adverts in racing, were the Lancer Evolutions in World Rally Championships. All of the Lancers were sponsored by Marlboro, and each one of them had the Marlboro chevron on the hood, with the Marlboro logo replaced with the phrase "SMOKING KILLS". Talk about strong anti-smoking advertising!
Too bad I haven't been able to quit the habit yet!
The only woodie I ever found *too rough* was that SoB at PKI when I first encountered him.
As far as steel, GAdv's Viper nearly took my head off in a bad way this year, and Rye's Hurricane is the ONLY Windstorm I've ever ridden that I felt was truly awful....*completely* due the the neck/head thingy! Whoever buys it, (assuming removal of those god-awful torture devices) will have a good coaster for the price!
SOB lives up to it's initials.
