How much vacant land is left @ SFOG?

I hope this isn't a repeated topic for this park! I know it was talked about a million times for CP! I've tried the search engine using "SFOG", "land", and hyper and found a close to a handred pages so I'd figure I'll try to ask here. There was rumors that SFOG may still build an Intamin hypercoaster like one of the S:ROS hypers in 2004 or maybe 2005! Is there PLENTY of room for that? I was reading a TR about a recent ACE event about ACEers commenting on a lack of a hyper and the author of the TR was saying something about the lack of space in the park. Another rumor on COASTERnet suggests that after the hyper they would build a family coaster and another coaster bringing the total to 11! Is there any way to add all those coasters WITHOUT removing anything? I know Viper(which fortunely I got to ride)is being move to SFKK and I am also assuming to make room for the hyper but still it would be nice to see the removal to a minimum.

Viper was removed to make way for S:UF. I would have liked to have seen Viper relocated, but alas, it didn't happen. I don't know too much about the space issue, though. I'd be all for any ride that would include the replacement of the Ninja with something good.

The can take out Ninja too if they want! I rode it once when I was there. I don't think it was as bad as people said it was but it didn't thrill me much when I was there. Is the Georgia Cyclone still as wild as when I rode it in 1997? It had some monor trimming (braking) when I rode it but still deliver a very intense ride and good enough to be my #2 woodie when I rode it! :-) The quality of most of SFOG rides were very good and I thought it was one of the better operated coporate theme park I've been to!

SFoG could certainly build a hyper, maybe without even taking out Ninja, but they won't. Why should they invest $15-25 million dollars on a hyper when they have just recently added S:UF and DejaVue. I'm also not sure if there would be any height restriction placed on them by local governments.

In my view they could do a hyper using the park's natural hills and produce a killer coaster. I would place the station accross from Scorcher and have the train exit the station and turn around over the entrance. Then the lift hill could be built with minimal supports and you would rise up through the tree tops. As you emerge the ride would unfold before you. The first hill of 235' would desend at 65-70 degrees. The second would crash down toward the lake and then up into an overbanked turn that would pass through the Scream Machine. The tracks would pass over S:UF and begin a series of bunny hills that would circle the park and return to the station. 7500' of track, lift hill of 235' and speed of 75-80 MPH. Then SFoG would have a ride to rival my favorite coaster...The Beast!

What have you gotten me into?

Screamscape mentioned 2004 for a possible hyper or mini-hyper (150-199 feet). That's a 2 year gap between S:UF and S:ROS (Hopefully). Didn't I just hear recently that they can go just over 200 feet? If they can go 210 feet and can fit it in a near exact clone of the GREATEST ride in the USA (S:ROS @ SFNE) could be built @ SFOG!

The word around the park right now is that a hyper won't happen for many years from now, if they decide to even build one. Next year there supposedly looking to attract more families with some new kiddy things.

They also are running low on space, unless they put another ride in the parking lot.

Are the kiddy things for 2003 or 2004? I know the hyper isn't coming until at least 2004 or 2005 at the earliest if it does come at all! It does not look very encouraging about the space problem @ SFOG! :-(

They aren't running out of space.

There is no height restriction, and if you don't believe me, contact the FAA's Southeastern bureau like I did.

Is that a Q-bot in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

GP I'm glad to hear that! I hope they get one by 2005! A ride with the high quality of S:ROS @ SFNE is needed in a year round or near year round (9+ mos of operations) park!
