How much land does PKI really have?

I was just wonderin how much land PKI has to expand.  I remember riding the train once and heard them say they still had several hundered acres.  Maybe I was mistaken.  Does anyone know the acutual amount they have
Tons and tons.  Supposedly, the property line goes all the way back to the Little Miami River.  More land than will ever actually be utilized by the park.

If the shoe fits, find another one.
I believe PKI still has 2/3 of their property yet that they can use unlike CP who is beggining to loose a lot of theirs!

From what i remember reading in an article a couple of years back, they have yet to develop on 50% of there land.

Shaggy, how bout you, do you know the actual amount of space they have left. I'm pretty sure it's 2/3.

They have about 350 acres on the park site itself about 100 of which is parking lot  (A big parking garage on the south end would free up tons of land here)    The park is about 90 Acres used (Including Beast and SOB compounds)   There is a huge area behind SOB that is about 80 Acers of usable land but Im not so sure how reachable it is.   Another interesting note is that the park owns the property behind Beast and Rivertown all the way over to the subdivision.
Goto the top of the tower and just look, The subdivision to the east is that border  Technically them electric lines over waterworks is the south boarder and the practice field for Kings Middle School is the north boarder with the NE boarder being the Great Miami.   The western boarder of course is KI drive.
It is possible for them to develop about another 100 acres but they do have room to build within its already superior to most parks infastructure.   I would like to see them move all the pay extras to the area of the old Wild Animal Safari maintence area.

I remember hearing that PKI currently takes up 364 acres, and has not yet even used half of their land.  So I am guessing they have around 800+ acres?

All you have to do is look around from the Eifell Tower and realize that there is a ton of space to expand. If they don't own it all, I am sure that they could if they wanted to. The Beast goes back out of the park for as long as the park is. Have a look at Terra Server. It is amazing.
When they originally purchased the land I heard somewhere they had around 1000 acres.  But that included the campground, the K I resort, and if I'm not mistaken, the golf center as well.  But I really can't back that up.  :)

smile...it's cheap, and people will wonder what you're up to. :)
Originally, the park purchased 1600 acres on both sides of I-71.  They followed advice from Roy Disney to buy five times as much land as they thought they needed.  The 1600acres included what is now the Kings Island Golf Center, and the Kings Island Resort, both of which are no longer owned by PKI.  Currently, as stated above the park sits on about 364 acres of land, and they have a little under 400 acres to expand on.  However, some of those acres are stuck behind Son of Beast and Top Gun, and way back behind the Beast, so if they use that land it won`t be for a long time.  Their land stretchs all the way to the Little Miami River.  I hope I helped.

What's with the acreage number "364" and Ohio parks? Cedar Point is exactly 364 acres with 64 1/2 being used just for the main parking lot. That's pretty freaky that they would be the same number. But maybe when they were first developing KI, they looked at their biggest competiton, and decided to match their acreage just in case they got competitive, they would be on an equal playing field.

I love the contrasts of Cedar Point and Kings Island...CP is totally out in the open, bordered in one of the biggest fresh water lakes in the world, Kings Island is nearly completely hidden within the hills and forests of southern Ohio. CP has more steel coasters than anywhere else, and Kings Island has one of the biggest collections of wooden coasters anywhere. And obviously by their coasters and attendence numbers, they have both found their niches. It just took CP about a 100 more years of development though. :)

They own 712 acres, with about 400 being used for the park.

If I recall correctly Taft bought about 2700 acres when they first moved the park.

Well I have it on good authority from a ride op at SFWoA that they have one... BILLION... Acres...

Honestly, though. Lots of numbers being batted around. The consensus is they have _plenty_. Does the exact number matter?

Billions of acres,that's funny.(LOL)
