How many times can you...

...uninstall then reinstall RCT? So far I have done it twice. The first time I've done it the game was acting all weird to me. Then the second time I'd try to play, then it would quit on me and a box came up that said, "Data file corrupted or inaccessible." Now, it's doing the same thing. Is there a limit to uninstalling or could someone help me stop this "Data file corrupted" crap?

All help will be appreciated!

Usually when you get that message, your CD is scratched... I don't know if Hasbro has an exchange policy where you can send in the scratched cd with its jewel case, but some other companies do, so that may be a possibility.
Hmm...I never thought about it being scratched, infact I do remember dropping it once. I literally can't exchange it, because I had it burnt for me, so I guess exchanging is out of the question.:)

Thanks!

Drachen fire What will happen to it?????????????
Yeah I also have recently had a problem with the game running. It turned out that my CD drive is blown. Luckily I have a second drive for burning CDs so I play it on that now.
When you burn this game it only runs good for a little time. I would suggest you go out and buy the real game and support RCT.
I had the same problem. You can't take it back If you scratched it up. I had already tried.

When I have that problem, I uninstall it then reinstall it. I can get back to my saved games and everything.

I would suggest having it burnt over, and a different burner if possible.
Also to answer your question, there is no real limit to installing and un-installing any kind of software. it's no more ware and tear on your computer then simply running a program is.

I had a similar problem all the time...

What I did first was:
A) Uninstall the game.
B) Blow out all the RCT registry keys.
C) Re-install the first game.
D) Install the 1st patch
-- Make sure game is working at this point.
E) Install the Add-ons.
F) Install the add-on patch (either LL or CF, depending on which one you have).
G) Try the game now!

- The burnt CDs should work just fine. I made about 4 copies of each RCT & they all work just fine. It wasn't until I installed each patch seperately when it finally worked.
BTW: This took me like 24 Uninstall/Re-installs to figure it out.
I was about to chuck it out the window, or force myself to call tech-support.

Not true. I made a backup copy to run the game (so if the cd got scrached i would'nt be out 30 bucks. and it's been running fine since november when i bought. But yes do support chris sawyer, jut not hasbro.
