How many Season Passes Do You Own?

Touchdown, I think everyone knows they're a bargain. I think PT300 expressed surprise because he couldn't believe people go to so many parks during the course of a year.

At least that's why I'm surprised. I consider myself an enthusiast, but it's rare that I go to parks more than 3 or 4 days a year.

Yeah but it depends on where you are going, if like me Ohio is the state you seem to always go through on your way east, well there are 3 amazing parks there and more often then not these chain parks corespond with a park your going to on the east coast. I realize everyone doesnt travel but then think about what happens if you live in or near LA you could have 5 homeparks, and Columbus well I know if I lived there I would proably consider CP and PKI my home park since they are so close. Den being an enthusiast is not contignant on how many days you spend at a park a year, if you love coasters then you are an enthusiast.

Wow all of a sudden I feel weird that I go so much. The last four years I've averaged 15 visits to CP from Pittsburgh, 3 to SFWoA and countless at Kennywood. This year I'm adding in a potential 11 other parks to my list of visits, but only 4 of those are confirmed.

I'd much rather spend my money and time on weekends and days off going to a park than sitting around getting drunk, I know that's one reason I go to a lot more parks than my friends.

Heh, well I don't drink, but there are a lot of other things I value just as much as going to amusement parks. Such as grilling out with friends, playing Putt-Putt or watching movies, golfing, DDR, etc. I don't get days off very often, so I have to spread my interests thinly across them...

Who says you can't do both?

chris, likes sitting around getting drunk at parks just as much as he likes sitting around getting drunk at a bar or in my apartment.

I have two passes - SF and CF. As for drinks...serve 'em up ;)

Yea yea chris - gotta rub it in :) Well, lets see, its 1:14, so in 10 hours and 45 minutes I'll be (legally) able to see if getting drunk at a park is fun ;)

And I guess if I only had a few days off a summer, I wouldn't go to parks as much, but I do mini golf and grill and all that after work on the weekdays - weekends are for coastering!

IMO getting drunk in a park [or in the hotel room or parking lot before you get there] is not fun. Having just a few -- enough to get a slight buzz -- is what I prefer when I decide to drink. Keep in mind some parks do have rules against intoxicated guests.

YMMV

Moosh, isn't it also some states have laws against public intoxication which parks would have to follow?

Anywho, I have only two season passes. Cedar Fair pass, Six Flags (bought online for SFKK and processed at SFoG, I confused the hell out of them and got them to do it). No need for a Paramount season pass (it is my home park) since I work there.

Shut up and have another beer, Moosh!

Anywho...I got an SFoG pass processed at SFKK last year. Must be something with the name 'Chris.'

chris, doesn't really drink as much as he lets on...well, maybe not.

Make it a Stoli Oranj and Sierra Mist and you're on, Chris!

Moosh - who wasn't directing his other post at Chris ;)

I wasn't saying that as intending to get "drunk" drunk ... I meant "buzzin" as you put it. Sorry about my liberal use of the word drunk. I'm sorry if it was taken the wrong way.

I know there are public intox. laws, and I know that I laugh at people that break them (cause I've had more than a few classmates arrested for breaking them)

Well, I have a Six Flags pass to be used this year at Magic Mountain, St. Louis, Kentucky Kingdom, Darien Lake, Great Escape, New England, Great Adventure, Over Georgia, New Orleans, and Fiesta Texas.

My Paramount pass to be used at Great America, Kings Island, Kings Dominion, and Carowinds.

My Busch pass will be used at Sea World San Diego, Texas, and Florida as well as Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Busch Gardens Tampa.

I also have a Zoo membership for The World Famous San Diego Zoo, does that count? So I guess I have 3 or 4.

I've got four as of right now.. But I may purchase a SDC/CC pass since I'll be visiting atleast twice this year (which would justify the purchase). I've got Busch Platnium (which IMO is the best pass ever. Free admission/parking to all busch parks, discounts, and ride agains at bgt and swo), Paramount's Carowinds, Knotts, and SFWOA.

As of right now, my Knott's, WoA, and Carowinds passes have all been "paid for", and my busch pass is two visits away from saving me more money.

Now if only parking passes worked at all parks like "normal" passes do, then i'd be a happy camper :).

Oh, and about the beer at parks.... After beer school and acouple at Trapper's Smokehouse, Alpengiest was actually good! ;)

I only have one season pass to SFGAM.. But it would be nice to live in part of the country wher you could have mutiple pass's for different parks. But since im going to coaster con this year i will get to spend several days at one of my favorite all around parks BGW!!!!!
We have passes to SF and Paramount. We have gotten CF passes in the past but this year they were cut because we're probably only doing CP once so it wouldn't pay to get them.

Bob O: We're from the Chicago area and it's not really that tough getting to PKI from here; hence the Paramount Pass. It's about 5-6 hour drive. You can PriceLine a room there very easy. There's a lot of nice hotels in the area and we've done rooms for as little as $20 a night. Many times we've left after work on Friday; go to the park all day Saturday; do a quick few rides Sunday morning and then drive home. It makes for a great weekend getaway for less than $100 for my lovely wife and I. That includes food, gas, lodging, etc.

I have no season passes to any park. I don't live close to any parks that offer them. I am doing well to visit a park once a year so I can't justify the expense. This may change when SFEV opens up Timberhawk and it lives up to my expectations.

Meet me at the PNE in 2003. Happy 45th birthday,Coaster!

I only have one season pass - BGW - and that is enough! :) I still haven't found time to use it this year and it's already May..Last year at this time I had already been 4 times! I have all of a sudden found my weekends booked up with too many things to do. We bought a new jet ski so we can't resist the temptation of that right now. That will get old soon, however, and off to BGW I will go. AC is calling me. As a matter of fact, I am going to the race in Richmond this weekend....hmmm...sounds like perfect timing to me!

DEK I go to PKI every other year and love the park!!!

But with my work schedule/dog/and 3 kids it just isnt easy to get up and go often enough to make the trip to get my money's worth, now once i retire things may be different but too many other responsibilities at the current time, but i wish that wasnt the case, escpecially how nice PKI treats their passholders and the ace walkback!!
