I know so much about roller coasters. Have any qustions just E-Mail me at agomez@afes.com
The first filming I did was cut from the final edit of the TLC show. They spent an entire afternoon filming me in the PKI Action Zone right in front of Congo Falls talking about SOB. I have never been so embarassed in my whole life! Hords of guests stood around (it was a Sunday afternoon in July) and watched while I was asked the same questions over and over and shot from different angles. The worst part was, they held these reflective mirrors up to aim light on me and I left with the worst sunburn of the year. I have never been so glad to leave PKI in my life. I am sure they didn't use me because I looked like a piece of frying bacon.
The next show I did, has yet to air. I am riding Raven on the Holiday World spot on the 10 Ten show to air Memorial Day 2002.
The very next weekend I was filmed for two days straight doing the play by play of Son of Beast for the same show. Now THAT was an adventure. Imagine talking LOUDLY to a camera while you ride Sonny's lift. They filmed me on-ride the first day, then filmed me out in the woods near the mid-course brakes the following day. The second day was horribly hot, and we were all sweating terribly. In-between takes I was dryed, patted, refreshed etc etc etc. But the biggest problem were the bugs. The camera will not show it, but I was up to my thighs in grass and there were ticks and critters all over. In between takes we were all constantly sprayed with bug repellant. So obviously between the sweat and spray, I was not the best smelling person by the end of the day.
Actually, it was very fun and the director and producer were very kind and patient. Whether they use me or not, I appreciate the chance to do it and will remember it always.
Ironically I was not supposed to do the play by play on Sonny. I was supposed to do the on-ride stuff for Beast. But there was a conflict with the shooting schedule and PKI called me at the last minute to switch coasters. I literally found out the day before and had to quickly bone up on my Sonny facts. When I arrived, the only thing PKI instructed me on was to NOT hold my hands up. Well, I reached the top of the big drop and natural instinct led me to shoot my arms straight up in the air, but then I remembered my instruction and pulled them down very quickly. When the shot was viewed, I apologized but they said they would probably use it since it looked like I became terrified and grabbed ahold.
So after the show airs, I may have to live down the stigma of "becomeing scared" on SOB.

Lori and I were also at the Discovery shoot for Phantom's Revenge -- we tallied 45 laps on that the day I was there, and it IS possible that one or both of us will end up on camera.
