How long will Shockwave last at PKD?

How long until this is torn down. I know its for sale but how long was KC on sale before PKI tore it down.
I have a feeling PKS is waiting to see how well the new Bungee attraction does at Paramounts King's Island before installing any more at one of their parks.

Oh Oh.... A.J., what do you know that i don't ? :)

Really? For sale? Hmmm....better go check my couch for loose change....

That eases my mind a little. I heard it was going to be dismantled and moved to PC.

*drumroll* ...and the new attraction for the 2003 season is another park's old ride so we can make room to add something new and spiffie into their park!

PC needs something serious, and soon.

PC doesnt need much besides a hyper. They Have Paramounts best racing woody, a great stand up, the ever pleasant and fun Hurler, a fun little mouse. A great Family ride in Super Saturator, and the best invert I have ever road.

That is unless you are talking about PCW which I know nothing about and if so ya need to work on your abbreviations. ;)

Hmmm....if I were going to defend any ride at PC (yes, Carowinds) it would be Goldrusher, but I digress...:-)

I will agree that Top Gun is good, but it just seems that all the other US parks get all the cool new rides. Yes, PC got Ricochet, but so did PKD. I understand that the other parks have more competition, but I would love to see another big ride-something over 40 feet tall would be nice for a change.

If you put in a Hyper at PC what more would be needed?

I loved the atmosphere of the park myself, very pretty and great great potential, all they need is a hyper really.

Right now they have....

Ghoster Coaster, Taxi Jam, Thunder Road, Hurler, Top Gun, Super Satuartor, Ricochet, Goldrusher, Cyclone, Vortex, a great collection of flats, a 2nd generation free fall, a great interactive dark ride.

Lets compare this to PKI and you have a pretty darn comparable selection of rides except PKI has no stand up or a full circuit/size invert. PC has no Beast or Sonny.

PC needs a hyper and it would be a top tier park.

I totally agree with MagnumForce. Top Gun and Vortex made the day at PC, and their other rides only further bettered it. 2 B&M's, great woodies and flats make for an excellent park. Just add the B&M hyper for a total of 3 great B&M's and a must-do coaster collection.

Ithink that Shockwave wasn't that bad of a coaster. I hope they don't sell it:(

Life is a roller coaster Ride It!

I hope Carowinds gets a hyper coaster and Shockwave goes away.
I wouldn't mind seeing a hyper or floorless go in shockwave's place.
Flickchick:
I think any thought of Shockwave going to PC is total rumor. Why would the park want two standups. Does any park have two stand-ups. Second, I don't recall any of PC's coasters being handme-downs. I agree that all the park needs is a nice hyper, and maybe some kind of launched coaster. As for things that the park has gotten compared to other US parks how about Top Gun, a unique B&M invert, Super Saturator one of the first of its kind, and Vortex the second B&M coaster. Not too bad I think.

PC should have gotten something the scale of TOPGUN years before they did A hyper would be great(diving under the front gate bridge to compliment TOPGUN in the back) but Carowinds also needs to restock their flat ride selection

FlickChick I think we are the ones who do the hand me downing in the paramount chain(how do you people in california like our swings ride, you south africans like our shuttle loop or Mexicans like our monorail? And we have a carousel out there some where)

Carowinds is my home park(5 miles away) and I would love to see them do something on the level of what sfgadv did a few years back or what sfwoa has done the last few years in adding rides

To answer the original question in this post my advice would be to ride shockwave as soon as you can Its days are numbered No way it's there in 3 years(my bet)
