How far you would go to ride a coaster?

How far have you gone to ride a coaster? I mean, the craziest thing you did.

One time, me and a friend left for Cedar Point from Toronto at 1 am(7-8 hours drive) Drove all the way to Cedar Point, spent the day at the park, until closing, and drove all the way back to Toronto from the park. All in one day!
I guess driving to Pittsburgh and Kennywood from York PA (209 miles).

While Fla was a longer trip, it was to visit family, and the coasters were just an add on while "we were in the neighborhood."

I'm here for the Coasters. If I want themeing I go to the movies.

Anywhere, anywhen I can afford it! :)

Dorney Park just... rules!
I drove 900 miles for a weekend, with a friend and someone else that I couldn't stand just to be able to go on Rockin' Roller coaster at MGM.
How can it take 7-8 hours to get to Cp from Toronto? Go throught london and then WIndsor and it takes 4-5 hours.

If Millennium Force was in the most distant place on earth from me, I would travel there.

I flew from Houston to Johannesburg S.AFrica (about 18 hours in the air) to ride the Anaconda. Was it worth it? Absolutely. I'm going back next year.

As for driving, we once woke up in Sandusky, drove to MichAdv, rode everything a couple times, then went to Indiana Beach that evening.
My average 1-week vacation will hit at least 30 coasters.
I would also travel anywhere to ride coasters. As a matter of fact, I'm flying to Ohio from California to hit the Ohio parks (CP, SFWoA and PKI) so that's as far as I've been so far. I really want to travel to Europe and experience some of their great looking coasters. And also the historic locations, but that would be secondary. ;) Peace. :)
I would ride a stand up coaster butt naked (yes I am a guy!) to win the first ride on a new coaster!

If FoF got that great of a makeover than why can't I?
Farthest for me would be from south of Pittsburgh, PA to Muskegon, MI, a total of 20 hours of driving...

Long drive, but as the guy on the coaster show said,

"I don't care how you get here: by plane, by car, by train... just get out here to ride Shivering Timbers!" ;)

For driving, Holiday World from Cleveland is my limit, no doubt about it. If I can fly, I will at all costs. I hate being in the car for long periods of time.

Travel tip: If you can fly to Baltimore cheap, do it and rent a car. You'll be right in the middle of a half-dozen great parks.

Keeping Coaster!!
You got that right about Baltimore, Jeff. I am in and out of Baltimore often during the concert season and it's such a great place in relation to so many parks!

The farthest I've gone... Well, in August I will be crossing 13 time zones to ride some coasters!! (OK, so the trip isn't to ride coasters. But when I found out I have to go I made sure that I could for sure go to the major Japanese parks!)

I thought about driving all the way to SFOT from my home in SoCal.
I live in Australia and plan on flying to the US next year, to vist the major parks. I currently work in an theme park, and is looking at working in a US one while I'm over there. I'm eligible for a J1 visa, which would allow me to work in a theme park for up to 4months if I wanted to.
I have you all Beat, I took a trip to Florida in 1998 just so I could ride Montu(one of the best looking coasters at that time) and Oh yeah, did I mention, I travelled from England to ride it, Basiclly I travelled with some people I know really well, and when I realised there was a chance I could go with them, I sneaked along. I actually did need a holiday at that time, hadnt had one for 1-2 years before that, but when I realised it was an oppununity to ride Montu, I went for it;)

Also in 2 weeks, I will be making a 5-6 hr journey(there and back) just to go to BlackPool and visit BPB, however, I am staying in Blackpool for a couple of days, so its not all in 1 day.
I will drive any distance as long as I have the time and money. I would prefer to fly, as I flew to Texas last summer, and am flying to Virginia this summer, but if I had to drive to these places, I would. I am just lucky to be in a family that not only likes to vacation, but understands my passion for coasters.
