How far will you go to get visit a Park or ride a new Coaster? I welcome your stories about how far you have gone to ride.
Why? Because I am from New Zealand, LA is a 15-hour plane flight for me. A 15-hour flight for SFMM? Am I Crazy? Most think so. However most don't seem to mind that its a 20 hour flight to Orlando and IOA!
Maybe its just SFMM ;-)
Are you as crazy as I am?

Well, if I had the means (i.e. money and time), I don't think there would be a limit as to how long I would travel to ride a world-class coaster. I wouldn't walk half-way around the world, but I would easily fly for 20 hours to ride something like Millennium Force.
My longest trip was 520 miles from my place to Michigan's Adventure. About nine or ten hours each way. We took a day to drive out, a day at the park, and a day driving back.

The farthest I've been to go to a park is Tampa Bay to ride Montu, Kumba, and Gwazi. I had a 4 hour flight from Cincinnati to Tampa.

My longest trips were probably to either Florida,Colorado,or Canada.
They were mostly family vacations.
The Florida trip was about 14 1/2 hours.
Canada trip was around a Day.
Colorado trip was around 1 1/2 days.

We drove from central PA (near Knoebels) to Holiday World. it was like a 13 hour drive we hit other parks along the way.
Were going to California this summer. Were flying but I'd sooner drive and hit parks but time and moneys the issue for that. Who knows what the gas prices will be like then too.

Not Too Shabby For A Summer
Probably from Colorado to Maine. Someday I hope to travel over seas to ride coasters.

My farthest trip from where I live is from Ohio to Florida. We took a plane. The longest to get to a park was from Ohio to Georgia. It took about 13 hours to get there.
My longest trip was a 24 hour drive to Florida and back! We couldn't get a plane because it was way too expensive so we drove. The driving was a horrible experience, but it was well worth it with IoA and all.

Cali to ride Stealth, look how that turned out

Best Coaster: Millennium Force
Worst Coaster: Project Stealth
A friend and I are planning on driving from chicago to LA to go on X. We are going to try and do all the driving in one day to get there, as we have limited time off of work. However, I refuse to go until X is 100% up and running. When volcano opened at PKD I drove there, pretty much for the purpose of riding it (and going to BGW), and found it to be closed. Then last year, I drove to PKI to ride son of beast, which was operational the previous day, only to find it closed for the whole day. The next day though, it did open for about 4 hours and I got be the first one to ride it that day, so it wasn't all bad. Lets just say my faith in paramount parks has greatly diminished, but to answer the q, there is no distance, if i had the available time and money, which i would not travel to ride a coaster. One day i am hoping to make it to Japan and Britain to hit the rides there, though that'll probabaly be a ways off.
I went from Detroit to Williamsburg just for two days of BGW. Colonial Williamsburg? Nah. Iwas there for Alpie and Apollo. I would be willing to drive to California from Detroit to ride Superman, Goliath, X, Deja Vu, Riddler's, and basically everything at SFMM!

Last year I flew from the UK to the US twice for theme parks. Did about 2500 miles driving when I got there. This year, I'm doing the same, except more parks and more miles - 15 parks in 14 days.
