how far is CP from PKI?

im going on a prk trip this summer and when i told my dad the parks well be stopping at before we reach my friends house in kentucky, (you pass PKI on the way there) he told me sandusky was out of the question, about how far apart(driving) are there 2 parks. on this trip i plan to hit PKI, CP and SFKK, 2 good ones and a nice small six flags. thanks for the help in advance.
About 4 and a half hours
really? dammit my dad wont let me go then, "only the parks we hit on the way there." dammit!!!!!!! screwd out of it again thats 2 times now.
Well try to go to Holiday World its a hour and a half drive from louisville, but you lose a hour while driving there because of the time zone

Yeah, 4 to 5 hours is correct. I did a mini tour last Summer. HW on Sunday July 1st, PKI on the 2nd, and CP on the 3rd. Best coaster weekend I've ever had :) Surprisingly CP wasn't busy at all on July 3rd. I heard the 2nd and the 4th were horribly crowded though. I musta gotten lucky !

3 hours

Maybe we were just driving fast, but we got there in just a little over 3 and a half hours.

I've gone to Cedar Point from Cincy and it was exactly a 4 hour drive. I left at 8 am in the morning and arrived at Cedar Point at noon. It is an easy drive up there. I'm going back up in the first week in July along with SFWoA.

Lessee... it takes me 1h 20m from my house to PKI and 2h 20m from my house to CP, so that's.... 3h 40m from PKI to CP.

It would be a three hour drive if there was a way to get there in a straight line. I live three hours from PKI (Cleveland suburb) pretty much to the minute, but it's I-71 the entire way. From CP to PKI there is no direct route, and you end up driving through several slow towns... ask Columbus residents about that drive.

Cedar Point to Kings Island:

Mapquest

Mapquest estimates are always LONG. We stayed in Sandusky at a friends' condo. The friend lives in Cinci. The friend came up to Sandusky 3 times. It took more than 3hrs, but less than 4hrs EACH TIME.

Where are you coming from, Dragon, that you'll pass through Cinci and Not thru Cleveland/Sandusky?

I clicked on reverse directions and it is 4 minutes shorter.

Funny, it's almost always taken me almost 5hrs on my fifteen trips to CP from Cincinnati

Chuck, who routinely leaves about 4am

Are you a conservative driver, Chuck?

I will admit that I usually travel around 80mph+ on an open interstate between cities. Travel time at 60mph vs 80mph avg can make quite a difference. 240miles @ 60mph=4hrs whereas 240miles @ 80mph=3hrs.

It's just gonna depend on A:How fast you drive & B:How much traffic is involved. I guess 3.5hrs - 5hrs is the range you should expect.

-Corey, Who always looks forward to Chuck's final comment.

im comeing from NJ rite near Great adventure, im visiting my cousin in kentucky and we pass kings island everytime, my dad said to find a another one so i said ceder point is in the stae. but we pass rite through cinci not sandusky.

If you pass right by PKI, my guess would be that you're cutting through Pennsyvlania once you get out of Jersey on the Pennsylvania Turnpike (76, 70), then just take 71 down once you hit Columbus.

If that's the case you have some great PA parks that aren't too much of a deviation off the PA Turnpike. Hersheypark. Knoebel's (well, this one is a bit off, but much closer than Cedar Point). Kennywood. Idlewild. Lakemont Park.

The last two are small parks, but Idlewild is a beautiful cozy park, just a few miles off the turnpike. But, Kennywood or Hersheypark would probably be your biggest bets if you want at least a half-dozen coasters in a park.

The way I've always gone down to PKI is NOT to take Route 4 to US 23 down to Columbus to pick up I-71 -- that way would be incredibly long and slow through tons of little country bumpkin towns. Instead, I take Route 53 through Fremont to Route 12 and pick up I-75 in Findlay and take that all the way down. Of course, I live just a tad west of Sandusky so that may not be the best way from CP either.

Corey, Of course I live about a half hour south of PKI (Which I make in 20min) and used to live 1hr west of PKI so about 5hrs is the norm for me. I may not take the fastest route either as I am a Train fanatic as well and have to drive to Fostoria Ohio where over 150 trains a day pass the jct of three major RR intersections.

Chuck, who takes I-75 to Findlay and then takes 12 to 56 to 2 into sandusky.
