How far is BGW from Cedar Point?

Hey go with southwest.  Sure you have to go to morroco to get to Virginia but its only 20-40 bucks.

Greg, sorry I must disagree with you about the time from PKD to BGW. There's no way you can do it in an hour (of course if 2Hostyl is driving my car, that's another story:) ) . Ravenguy has it right. I would count on 2 hours.

Having done it twice, I'd say two hours in between, unless you hit that summer rush to the beaches outside of Richmond on a weekend.

It's more like 90 minutes at the most.
Ok, 90 minutes sounds about right.  I tend to lop off remainders when guestimating driving times ;)

Hey i had a similar topic to this that was closed. It said how far hersheypark is from penn state and somebody said use mapquest and then it was closed. I don't trust mapquest because it said from my house to cleveland is 45 minutes and it really takes about 15 minutes to get to cleveland from my house.

Every time I go to BGW I pass PKD on 95.  I have always found it to be right around 1 hour.  PKD is 15 minutes from the Richmond Beltway (I can't remember the number), then you are on the Richmond Beltway for 15 minutes, then 64 for around 30 minutes.  I may speed a little, but not enough to make an hour's difference (at least I don't think :0) ).

My 90 to two hours must go faster than the average person's, not admitting to speeding or anything. But, I've been through there a few times, & traffic was moving quite quickly. Especially for a state where people aren't supposed to use radar detection devices.
Jeff's right about the rush from the beaches.  If you ever plan on going to BGW on a weekend, traffic will be horrible.  Not as bad as the Newport News/Norfolk area, but still a pain.  From my experiences, about an hour and a half to two hours, depending on traffic, between the two parks.

For reference, I just booked a round trip from Pittsburgh to Norforlk, VA, on USAir for $153, including all taxes and fees.  This is for a weekend in February (flying out Friday evening, home Sunday evening, to visit my sister), but the fare is valid until past opening weekend (I'm considering booking another flight for opening weekend...)

Given that USAir basically has a monopoly on Pittsburgh air traffic, I would imagine similar or better deals should be available elsewhere.

Hey Rob, Greg split the difference and say 1 hour 15 min :)

Honestly, I think it only took about 2h 30m to get from BGW to SE DC. And I *know* I can get to my house from PKD in 1h 20min. So 1:15 sounds about right.
