How does Jeff know what is going on at parks?

I do not know, however, what time Kennywood will close tonight.

Is this some kind of a hint?

No, it's an old joke.

Kennywood has no set closing time.

ATM...no, Kennywood's closing time is one of the "great mysteries of the amusement world"....they decide during the day when to close based on attendance, weather, etc....

Jeff was simply referring to this.....(I think)....

Just one hint, please. What time does Kennywood usually close at:?

3)Beast2)Nitro1)Magnum

Based on what I can put together, the news that's "killing" Jeff to not let out that will "depress a lot of enthusiasts" is in some way related to Arrow and the bankruptcy issue. I coud guess that they're going out of business altogether or that a major issue will arise with X, causing it either to be torn down or something of that nature.

Its not related to Arrow, but I'll have to disagree slightly with Jeff: it will only depress enthusiasts who neglect looking at the big picture.

I know a lot of enthusiast who want a world class wooden coaster at Cedar Point, and they would be depressed with another steel. Do we even know if the depressing news has to do with Cedar Point?

And one of those stories right now is killing me... it would depress a lot of enthusiasts if they knew.

My guess, X is getting torn down

So the game is to have as many guesses as possible so that *someone* can say they were right? You guys crack me up!

Mamoosh, how do you know what Jeff is talking about? ( Sorry, if that sounded rude. That's the problem with message boards, you can mean for something to sound one way, but because you're not actually speaking, it may sound another way. )

Well, I will guess that Six Flags is buying a park that has otherwise been a popular mom & pop outfit for many, many years. With that, I might say something like Knoebels, Holiday World, or someplace along those lines.
Ah yesssss, Six Flags Holiday World.

Wahoo - if you think for a second that the Kochs would sell to anyone, especially SF since they have a park an hour away, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you!

I think that it is pretty obvious that Jeff is eluding to the idea that he knows what CP will be doing next year and that it will be a disapointment for most. He mentioed that the two biggest questions in the industry are (1) What is CP building and (2) What time Kennywood Kennywood closes. He then goes on to say that he has no idea what time Kennywood closes eluding to the fact that he knows what CP is building. From this I'm guessing that if it is a coaster, it's not going to be as big as what many think or hope. However, I thinll think it will be at least somewhat major or it would not be a big deal for Jeff to keep his mouth shut. Just my two cents worth
Mamoosh, never say never! I don't think anybody saw the sale of Knott's Berry Farm (one of the oldest family run parks in the country) to Cedar Fair yet it happened.

Skipper, can I have some of what you're smoking? j/k

Mrs. Koch discussed and dismissed this at SRM this year. :)

Not to sound vulgar, but are the Koch's going to live forever? I am sure Walter Knott said in his days that he would never sell too. In any event, I am not saying that park specifically but something along those lines that would catch us enthusiasts off guard and be somewhat disappointing.
