How does Cedar Fair work?

How does Cedar Fair work? What I mean is, how is money distributed among the parks? From what I've read, I think each park only gets to use what it makes itself, but I'm not sure. So how exactly DOES it work?
Pretty much, however, the CF board of directors will finalize plans for any park. There is a Vice President for Cedar Fair that represents each park. Then you have some other Vice Presidents, like the Chief Financial Officer (Hi Mr. J!) and then Mr. Kinzel, the President, a.k.a. #1.

Ah, so Cedar Fair isn't being a Big Cruel Company and holding money from VF and KBF...
OOOh I can't stand people who say KBF is negelected! They are not holding money from them.

Supreme Screme, Perilous Plunge, the purchase of a hotel, just for the park, and a new (and expensive) coaster next year are just some of the most recent additions to the park. If CF was a mean company they could have canned Ghostrider if they wanted to!

CF aquired the park at such a time that they could have if they felt so inclined. But no, they let the CCI go (thank god!) and have continued to expand and pump money into the park.

Okay, so does CF sometimes give parks money? If they do, where does it come from?

Generally speaking, the parks operate as individual business units. All major capital improvement is approved by the board. The way I understand it (and who really understands corporate finances), the only company-wide issue is that cash flow remains positive overall.

As the CEO described in an interview on this site last year, they don't like to spend money on anything that can't recover the cost on in a year or two. A good example was the combination of Millennium Force and Breakers Express at Cedar Point. The two improvements needed each other, in a way. They knew the hotel would pay for itself and then some, because the ride would attract people to stay there, therefor they could afford the ride.
