Oh, and the sleeve says, "It's not good if it's got no records."
Me myself, I've got plenty of park t-shirts. Do I wear them all the time? No. And if I do wear the t-shirt, it's often times at the park that it came from, or in the same chain. Most of the shirts I've bought have been because I've really like the graphics (evil looking) or it doesn't look like a coaster/park t-shirt at all (Aero 360 with techno-like logo on front and schematics on back, and Lightning Racer from HP, which looks like a car racing shirt)
I've bought plenty of t-shirts at my homepark SFA that I don't think are available anymore including Two-Face, and Joker's Jinx. I'm pretty sure they still have the Superman T, but I'm not sure about the Batwing black T, which was free at media day. Unlike RGB, I don't see anything with having some homepark pride by wearing a t-shirt from that park. The last t-shirt I bought was for Tomb Raider Firefall, since it was only $10, and kind of has a gothic look to it.
I have though slowed down with the t-shirt buying. When I was at Knoebels last month, they had approximately 500 t-shirts to choose from over at the Twister photo booth. I took a good look and said "Nah--I need to save money". It's like concerts for me. You pay $25 for a ticket, and then $10 to park, and then they want another $20-$25 for the t-shirt, which explains why I haven't bought a band t-shirt in ages. Just realize when you buy any park t-shirt that you're paying them to have the previledge of advertising the park. *** Edited 6/13/2005 9:09:51 PM UTC by Intamin Fan***
As I have said before in other posts, I consider myself an enthusiast in disguise.
The only amusement park related wardrobe I own is a Six Flags Great America hoody sweatshirt. The only reason I bought it is because it displays "Chicago" underneath the SFGAm name.
My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.
I usually wear a CP shirt when I go to SF, and vice versa. I don't wear my pins, but I keep them on a lanyard in my room.
Knoebels- 4/28
As for the patch, I don't smoke, and no... it's none of your damn business.
The Flying Turns makes all the right people wet - Gonch
But I don't really wear them. I bought a Volcano:TBC visor at PKD out of a need to shade my eyes. I rarely wear it, but have worn it to PCar on occasion.
I have a BORG Assimilator shirt, but don't wear it to parks. I bought it because I'm a Trek fan, and love the BORG character(s). I def. don't wear the stuff when I'm at a park. I don't really present myself as an enthusiast at a park.
I kind of like wearing my "Park Garb" when I visit other parks around the region. I also like having conversations with people who share the hobby. I usually wear t-shirts and hats, but I keep a nice supply of magnets and posters in my sixth grade classroom (to refer to during physics lessons & K'nex construction MST projects).
With the exception of little kids, if I see an "enthusiast" on a line similarly dressed, I am prone to say howdy and ask about the ride or park.
It does makes the wait go faster and it fascinates the general public that "people like us" even exist.
Here's To Shorter Lines & Longer Trip Reports!
Actually I have all my pins on a Legend hat but it hasn't left my hat rack in my house since 2000 (only to add new pins)
I pretty gave up on patches, mainly since most parks don't have them anymore. Although i'm sure a coaster patch or two could blend in easily with my jean jacket! I'm sure Gonch and Tina will have a flashback!
I DO have an "I survived Jurrassic Park" T-shirt and a green Tie-dyed HULK T-shirt to remember my 12 months as an IOA Citizen. I rarely wear them though.
I also had a HULK ballcap, but I sadly lost it on LR at Hersheypark. :( I wore it all of the time.
All of that other stuff would look WAY too unstylish for a rock star like me.
The pin is more effective than the patch or pill as it goes straight to the source. :) *** Edited 6/14/2005 4:09:04 AM UTC by Chitown***

I love collecting souvenirs. I have alot.
Here are a few pics. This is not everything.
Not shown are several things from Celebration City, Dollywood, Indiana Beach and Six Flags Great America but I'll add those eventually to the photo album.

I also have about 20 or so patches and about the same for pins. I would sew the patches onto the themepark backpack of the year and once my bloody fingers would heal from pushing the thread through those thick paddings, I would apply the pins. Sadly I had to remove the pins as people would steal them off my pack while I was wearing the backpack. Even more sadly is the fact that parks are no longer making these patches.
As for the attire, generally I tend to wear a coaster shirt from competitor park whenever I hit the parks. I found that it opens up conversations with other enthusiasts and makes some of the general public notice the ride and maybe ask some info. I dont spit out ride facts just offer a bit of info on the design and what park, they can figure it out from there.
My fav shirt is my Dueling Dragons Tie-die from IOA. It gets quite a few looks (plus I love dragons), hell even the ride op at CP called me out in the crowd over the PA and commented on the shirt and the ride. :) I noticed quite a few buzzers commenting on the shirt at last years beastbuzz as well though no one started a conversation.. oh well it doesn't work all the time !?!
And for those of you who scream that wearing coaster garb at the parks screams "geek", try looking at your post count on a rollercoaster website forum. Chitowns personal count = 4255. That's geek. :)
What was I supposed to put here again?!?!

Nah, I'm going to side with the "screams geek" folks.
Look at how many people admit to wearing park/coaster garb in hopes of attracting conversation and/or attention. That reeks of "please talk coasters with me, I can spout all kinds of unimpressive stats" desperation.
Posting to a coaster forum (this post makes 3950 for me :) ) is simply having conversation with like-minded people.
I see a big difference in trying to lure anonymous park goers into coaster conversation and participating in coaster discussion with others who frequent a website hoping to do the same.
Then again, this comes from a guy who has a bunch of those stupid souvenir cups lying around - and that just reeks of geek. :)
I'm certainly with those who do nothing to stand out as an enthusiast at any given park. That's not to say I purposely try to blend in, but I wear what I wear, don't tend to spout coaster facts, never correct those around me and whatnot. In fact, I own exactly one coaster shirt and probably haven't even worn it a dozen times (although I do believe one of those times was to a park so go figure).
My kids dig coaster shirts, but between them still have maybe 6 or 7 and occasionally the wife whores a coasterimage shirt around the parks - but I consider that more of a product placement than a enthusiast proclamation. ;)
