How do you void station brakes failure?

How do you void station brakes failure.
Once it happens, you can't "void" it or stop it at all. To avoid killing people, you can run with just one or two trains (depending on the lenght of your track) so that one isn't in the station when the brakes fail, so they'll just keep going around and around instead of colliding. After it fails, the mechanic has to fix it, then you double click on the red light and then it can be reopened. But I'd test it first -- a lot of guests won't go on it without those safety checks.

Assign a mechanic to the problem ride (set the patrol area for a really tiny area near the exit.) Then it might not crash if he fixes it.

You should probably replace your coaster by the time that happens. Once the coaster gets old all the inspections in the world won't stop it from breaking down.

Build your coasters station off the ground and then test it. When the train arrives at the station it should go below 26 MPH and there will not be any crash. To make it go below 26 MPH when it arrives build an upward helix and that shoud do it.
Before the station, build some brakes at 4 mph. The people won't die anymore even if the station brakes fail.

You realize that when the brakes fail ALL the brakes around the track fail too right? That doesn't solve a thing.

It's pretty simple, and I've learned to do this:
Short track=1 train
Long Track=2 trains
That way even if the brakes do fail, it won't do any harm. Hope that helps!

Depends on the capacity of those trains and how short the track is. I had a mine train that brought in $8000+ hourly running only 2 trains and whenever it had a station brake failure they just kept going around and around.

That's weird, usually when I have a station brakes failure, the entire ride shuts down (lift hills etc.) For the most part though, I dont care. I just let the folks die. By the time anyone of my coasters kills someone, I've either a) already won the level or b) my park is so dope that even the deaths dont hurt the rating much. It just requires that I reset the ride. Essentially, no harm no foul.

There really is a good way to deal with this. The first thing is that generally speaking your ride should be long enough and station high enough off the ground to bleed off as much speed as possible first. If your trains are hitting the station faster than 25 mph, it's too fast.

Some times it is necessary to brake a ride as it approaches the station, for example if you're doing a huge speed coaster inspired by Millennium Force. I would add though that a properly designed ride never needs a mid-course trim anywhere. In any case, your brake settings in the run should start high and get lower every section. For example, if your train hits the run at 45 mph, your first block should be 42. Decrease one click until you get to 13. I have never had a station brakes failure ever using this method.

This is incorrect. All brakes do not fail during a station brakes failure. I have never seen any brakes other than station brakes fail in RCT. If your last section of brake run before the station is set to 4MPH you should never have a crash in the station. As for how to avoid the station brakes from failing... you can set the inspections to a shorter interval, but I think sooner or later it will happen eventually.

No, BrandonR is right. That's why I mentioned the gradual braking method above. The failures come from any brake hitting a train too fast.

I don't think I made a statement to the contrary. Are you saying that you agree that all brakes on a circuit fail when the station brakes do? I think that is what BrandonR was saying, and that is what I was disagreeing with. But, maybe that is true. I don't recall ever seeing that before, but when there is a crash as a result of station brakes failure you don't get to watch too many trains run the circuit. So maybe I am mistaken... someone set me straight. My apologies to BrandonR if I am wrong.

I agree with the gradual braking... notice I said last section of a brake run being set at 4MPH, not just one 4MPH brake to slow the train from whatever speed remains at the end of the course.

Um sorry when the brakes fail they fail too the best of my knowlege.
