How do you think the new Strata will run?

Although seeing a home park of mine get topped i.e. Cedar Point, I think that this is generally a good thing. People need to give us more to be excited about. ALthough six flags isn't the greatest spot on earth for somehting of this caliber, I hope it goes off well for them. It just seems that with great power comes great responsibility(thanks uncle Ben). ALso what about the new one at Hershey, not really scary in my opinion, it kind of looks to be a wild mouse that is vertical. It still is intresting and maybe worth a ride. Can't wait till labor day next year, going for my first trip out there and maybe Knoebels.

It'll all come down to how well it's maintained. Given the number of former Geauga Lake people that Cedar Fair canned now working at SFGAdv, I wouldn't get my hopes up unless Intamin performed some kind of engineering miracle.

My opinion? Change the first word of your question to 'when'. ;)

But seriously, never underestimate the lessons learned from a working model. If you've ever been on the three standard North American impulses, you'd know what I mean. The last one has a stronger launch and rarely any downtime.

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.

I was kinda wondering the same thing...given all of the problems I've heard about with Top Thrill Dragster, like cables snapping and people being hit by metal fragments, I was kinda surprised to read that SFGAdv is going to build one even higher and faster than TTD. Does anyone know if Intamin has redesigned the launch for the new ride or is Six Flags just going to have to take their chances? Seems like a lot of money for a ride with less than great reliability. Also, whatever happened to the ThrustAir coaster? I'd like to see a few more of those, does anyone know if they're going to build more?
Given the probelms TTD had, combined with Six Flags operating and even larger model, and given the fact Six Flags has now decided to sue Intamin, I'm expecting a lot of downtime. From an uptime standpoint, it might turn into Flashback (SFMM) of the east!

I really do hope for the best though. I would be nice if they could get all the kinks worked out and make it worth a trip out there.

[sigh] Somebody else explain it (for the seven billionth time), I can't do it again...

As for reliability, I'm willing to give SFGAdv the benefit of the doubt. It seems pretty odd to me that, after all the operational issues they had this year, they would put in not just a new ride but a new themed section. I'd like to believe they know how they're going to turn this around -- but I guess we won't know till April.

You only have one ball, Danny? ;)
The other one busted and is in the shop thanks to a certain Twister ride at PPP last weekend. Now I know as much as Batwing Fan about what SFA will be getting (or not getting) next year! Waaa! ;)

This is in reply to a fun-filled post that Swoosh sadly deleted calling me completely naive and saying that Matthew(Moosh)'s post went over my head...

So I didn't ride Twister with Moosh last weekend where he completely "mooshed" my *entire package*? Definitely not. ;)

Your first post showed an obvious interest to get *between* us. That's serious business in these parts, but coming with one isn't any different than two. Two just leaves more to play with... ;)

Took you a crystal ball to figure that one out? ;)

Like you don't take every opportunity and excuse you can get to rub it. ;)

I don't think it REQUIRED a crytal ball, that's just what Danny comes *equipped* with...;)
I think Danny was smart enough to figure out moOSh in the first place...I mean, c'mon, Danny has all but gotten "The Credit" ;)
I knew you would understand, Techno. ;)

You think getting mOOSHed was bad, wait till you get Teknoed on Thunderhead...

And for that, you get my daily dose of...

Jeesh!

No fair removing your posts, D....

Makes it look like we're a bunch of idiots.....oh, wait....nevermind...:)

Yeah, just incase anybody comes in late, Swoosh Shady, in an apparent attempt to "get between" Danny & Moosh, tried to explain moosh's innuendo to Danny, who already got it, hence his making a comment back to Moosh that was a total inside joke from PPP last weekend, where somebody got Mooshed (Darn, I wish it had been me...;))

After explaining that not only did Danny get the joke, but that it kinda made Swoosh look like the naive one instead, Mr. Shady deleted his posts, apparently to either save face, or because some other unknown reason(yet everyone yells at me when I go deleting posts, go figure).

Got it? Good! *** Edited 10/15/2004 6:34:05 PM UTC by TeknoScorpion***

Oh, I see now, I was wondering when we were going to tie this back in to strata-coasters...thanks for clearing that up... :-P
