How come no single riders in the back of coasters?

The policy goes like this. When Premier took over all the Six Flags parks were to adopt the same ride safety rules along with hand signals. For some reason SFMM decided that they weren't going to follow along. I noticed that SFGAM, SFSTL, SFKK and SFWoA all follow the general guidelines and have the same hand signals. This also includes Single riders in the last row. They probably have a rule for test rides requireing 2 riders on the train. It's a lame rule and I don't know why they haven't changed. Just Pigheaded I guess.

Those who said it was a safety issue are correct, as I worked there years ago. I think the hand signals are pretty universal, though I saw at Dorney Park recently different ones. And yes for test rides in the morning I had to have someone with me. Made fun for the ops to argue over who gets to go. But yes it was a safety thing. I agree though, that SFGAm does not have it anymore when I went this summer. Never did notice at SFNE if they do or not.

Safety. When I was 10, I rode alone in the back of the Giant Dipper at Santa Cruz. The old trains had a shallow divider, but a divider nonetheless. I was first thrown from one seat to the other around the first turnaround, and then back to my original seat on the next turnaround. Needless to say, I was a little freaked out by that (even though it was kinda fun).

Yeeee Haaawwww!
Well, if it is a "safety" issue, it must be individual park policy, for as I stated in an earlier post...
BGT, Morey's Piers, Hersheypark, Knoebels, Lakemont, SFA, Williams Grove, Dorney and Dutch Wonderland (forgot those last two in my first post) have no policy regarding single riders in the back seat of their wooden coasters, or at least none that is enforced.

"I wasn't always this cynical, but then I started kindergarden..."

Well, I have ridden quite a few coasters on my own in the back seat, and have had no comments from Ride Op's to tell me to move or be with another single rider. I dont see anything wrong with it, prehaps only some parks enforce it. but so far( at least For me anyway at the moment)I have had No Problems yet. Some coasters Include

Hulk at IOA - Believe it or not, I managed to ride Hulk in the Back Seats all on my own, I was going up to the station, and found it to be nearly empty, There was a train waiting in the station, so I quickly hopped in the Back Seats, The Ride Ops said nothing and still let me ride. Oh yeah, I also went on Fire Dragon and Ice Dragon at IOA both in the back seats on my own, again No comments from the Ride Ops to tell me to move.

A Few others are Gwazi at BGT, Top Gun at PKI,Adventure Mine Train at PKI, Vortex at PKI, and Racer at PKI.

BMCoaster - I dont think SFWOA follows it No Single Riders in Back row of Coasters Rule very well really, when I went earlier this year, I managed to ride SUE,The Big Dipper, and Villian at SFWOA all in the Back Seat on my own, No one Stopped me either.

Paul - Who is still waiting for a major park to stop me riding a rollercoaster in the back row on my own and Hopes it will never happen either
