how big can cp get?

If cp were to replace the parking lot with more park, wouldnt that make the place too big to walk realistically in a day? they would have to put in trams between rides.

It wouldn't be too big, but they would most likely have some sort of transportation. But in order to take out parking lot, they would have to build more, cause on Saturdays I hear they are almost always filled to capacity. A parking garage would be great, but money...those things cost a fortune.

CP can get as big as it wants, you just need people with good imaginations making the decisions. :)

If they took out the parking lot, it would expand the park's space by about 30%. Deffinitly not too big to walk in one day.

Cedar Point 2003, and it begins...

I remember when I worked there that some full capacity days I wasn't even allowed to park in the lot. We had to park a few miles away and be bussed into the park. The busses always ran late and rarely had enough room to take everyone waiting. Everyone would fight to get through the little door. It was such a hassel. I remember getting mad and screaming "Hello! Duu...Build a parking garage already."

It was once a popular rumor that by the year 2003 they were going to expand the park into the parking lot and build a new lot or parking garage somewhere across the lake. They where going to have a monorail and a ferry to take people from their cars to the park and vice versa. This would create a lot of expansion room. I am really starting to not believe the rumors though.

All of this sounds like a good idea, however it would make the park to big to fast. I really think that they can find more creative ways to expand the park then to move the parking lot. They are already doing this now. My opinion is it probably will never happen.

But just think how HUGE Cedar Point would be if it did.

I once heard that the parking lot was like 60 acres or something. If this is true, than even if they built just a two story parking garage, they could have 30 more acres to build with.

I have never been to CP, but from the looks of things, they still have room for more rides, I say fit what they can into what they got, than worry.

I like the idea of having a ferry and a monorail. That would make the drive shorter!

Wouldn't "across the lake" be Canada? ;)

The whole peninsula is 364 acres. The parking lot is 64 1/2 acres. I'm not sure the exact number of acres the amusement park is minus the Challenge Park, resorts, hotels, and parking lots.

LocoBazooka--Sevendust, Nonpoint, Stereo Vent, Mushroomhead
Korn Tour (With no name)--Korn, Puddle of Mudd, Deadsy

They could of course build over existing parking lot and fence it off like SFGAm, i mean everyone loves an eye sore.

No, but really, they could move camper village onto the shore of the mainland. And they could give the hotels (Breaker, Sandcastle) thiere own parking garages.

Shoot me if I'm wrong, but I believe the park is 368 acres (of fun!)

I can just see CP pulling an Elitch and moving in 40 years...ok, not really, but wouldn't it be funny?

When I said "across the lake", I ment that they could build a lot somewhere on the mainland of OHIO. The "lake" I was refering to is the one that you are looking over to see CP while driving on Causeway Drive. Sorry that I didn't make that clear to you, MiLLeNNiUMRiDeR;)

-KoRn is the Millennium Force of ROCK-

This was included in an e-mail from my brother who was at the point this weekend. Any truth to it? I don't have a clue.

There is track and support posts laying by the Mean Streak and also in the Soak City parking lot for the 2003 thrill ride. Some DJ broke the news on Saturday that it was an Intamin 410' thrill ride that would shoot out of the station, go straight up, then straight down and into a loop and then back to the station. My old boss was doing "damage control" witht he press all day Saturday as nothing has been officially announced. I bet it will be soon!

dexter - I believe you're refering to Sandusky Bay.

Without the chaindog, you'd never get up the lifthill...

Cedar point is already pretty big to walk...after only 2 laps around, my feet already hurt...if they expand, they would have to put in some sort of transportation...or the best would be golf carts that people could rent :)
