hotel question

We are planning a trip to Hershey park and Dorney park in June. We were wondering if anyone knows any good hotels to stay in on I-78 that are close to halfway between each park. We would appreciate any help anyone can give us. We have never been to either park and are excited to visit both. Thanks!
When I try to find a hotel in the middle of nowhere for a trip like yours, I look at a map, find the name of a small town about where I want to stay, and "Orbitz" it. You cannot use Priceline for small area. 9/10 times, the hotels will all be right on the highway. You can call them to be sure or check out their websites and find a map.
From the book I have, there are alot of hotels within 15 minutes of Dorney park and same for Hershey. I will be going to both in a week.

I don't know about inbetween though.

Judging by my book, it looks like the prices to stay in allentown are way cheaper then Hershey. you should stay in allentown and just drive to Hershey the day you go.
Maybe someone else can offer a more educated opinion.

I just stayed at Super8 that was 12 miles down the road from Dorney Park in Kutztown off of I-78, and I loved it. I got a very large single room with queen-size bed for $65. It was clean, quiet, and had a lazy-boy recliner. I'm told that only three of the rooms are that size in this small hotel (I had room 217 I believe). This was substantially cheaper than the posted rates, which might go up after Memorial Day (my room was posted on the door at $99). They also had a small contential breakfast-english muffins and two types of cereal, plus orange juice and milk.

I'll agree that staying near Hershey would probably be more expensive, although I saw a no-tell-like motel (if you know what I mean:) on my way to get my pass from the Giant off of 743 behind the park. I doubt they would be that expensive if you're not picky.

If you are trying to keep the price reasonable, you are on the right track staying along I-78. You won't get a hotel in Hershey in season for less than $100. Along I-78 you can get a low as half that. When I stayed, I was at the Hershey end where 743 hits I-81. I think I paid about $50 but I don't remember what brand the hotel was. Nothing fancy, but clean.
This is a nice place that is about at the halfway point between Hershey and Dorney. I can't get the rates to come up for me though. I always pass it on my way out to Dorney(I live right by Hershey.)

I have stayed at other Microtel's and my experiences with them have always been good. This one is right off I78 at the exit for Route 61. Perfect place to stay for the trip you are planning.

We stayed in Malvern, right outside King of Prussia and Valley Forge, both parks were less than 1 1/2 hours away and we paid 40 bucks a night via Priceline.
