Disney's new Mission: Space was built to become an instant classic, a one-of-a-kind thrill ride people would tell their friends about and want to ride again and again. Disney officials hope the new $100 million ride will help boost attendance that has been sagging for two years now.

"And a roller coaster called Expedition Everest is planned for Animal Kingdom in 2006. Its top speed will be just 55 miles per hour -- less than half the speed of the new Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point park in Ohio -- but Disney's "Imagineers" are touting the ride's drops and sharp turns."
Is this the first detailed mention of this coaster?

DELETED! What time does the water show start?
Two days and counting until I get a crack at Mission: Space. Do I have to turn in my thrill-seeking wings if this ride makes me sick? Add Gravitrons (but not Orbitrons) to the list of things I really don't like -- along with loud noises and imperfect pancakes.

What do I Listen-To?
May the Schwarz be with you.
Maybe Disney should just stick to the kiddie rides.

There is room for both.
Just drop the bias, this is REALLY a great ride. I've done this many times. I'm sick of the kiddie rides idea. I have more of a thrill on Haunted Mansion or Kilomanjaro than on some big coasters.
BTW Maddie, you'll do fine. Just don't eat big before the ride, keep your head back, watch the screen, and you'll do fine.

A ride where you strictly HAVE to keep your head back and watch the screen to not get sick is asking for trouble. I feel really bad for the cast members working this ride when it starts getting really busy. Plus whats the point of having objectives to complete if they don't even affect the outcome of the ride?

Where's my Soarin' Over Monstropolis and Nemo's Underwater Adventure Ride already??
Mission: Space has been getting glowing reviews from park and Disney enthusiasts I've talked to, so hopefully it will be something word-of-mouth can bring back to Disney. If the rumors are true that their hand-drawn animation dept. is being shut down, it would be nice if something was holding them up besides Pixar's works even if POTC and Freaky Friday are doing quite well at the Box Office.
