According to the Plain Dealer, Hook's Lagoon is not opening for a while. However, the rest of Hurricane Harbor is now open.
The local TV station in Youngstown said that where the little girl almost drowned is still under investigation so that part won't be open until the investigation is complete.

i don't know why she had her head by the drainage pipe in 1 ft deep pool, but that is a freak accident. Now Hurricane Harbor will be even more crowded:(

HurricaneGeauga- Just in case
Please don't hate me for this comment but the girl was supposedly doing hand stands in the water by the drain. With Hooks Lagoon usually pretty crowded, that stunt was sort of stupid in the first place.

If the current was as strong as the state says it was at the drain, why weren't other kids "sucked" into it?

In a way it's both the girl and the park's fault.

HG, Hook's is only 1 foot deep?
And I don't think it was a stunt, after all, isn't that what you are supposed to do in a water park? *** This post was edited by bigkirby on 6/3/2001. ***
