Homemade kiddie drop tower

Hey- I just use some AB Dollys (The eight wheeled carts) and ride them down my driveway or spin them around like a spinning ride, or like a wild mouse. :) LOL

I named my cat the same thing.

Get some pictures of your coaster and drop tower when its done. They'd be interesting to see.

How much speed are you actually gonna get from 12 feet??
I don't understand why you are all bashing his project. Ride of Steel has an interesting idea to design a small drop tower, let him have his fun. I am sure he would test it to make sure the bungees work before actually having it drop with a person on it...or maybe that idea is a little too complicated for some of you to understand...
why not use something easily compressible? instead of haveing bungies run the whole lenth of the tower witch would cause you to dec. your speed the whole trip, just design a bungee 'cathers mit' at the bottom so the tower falls into it. like 4 bungiess to form a square around the tower pulled tight, when the thing hits it the bungies would work like a trampoline.

on 2nd thought, why not just buy a trampoloine? you can get 12 feet of air on one ;)

Do you think its possible to make a bobsled coaster by using halfpipes as track?

That's what I name my cat after too.

My mind works in strange ways. Yeah with a chain driven lift hill and gravity.

I have a wench at y house and it has a little arm clip thingy that you lift up and the wench can roll freely, so if you crank the car to the top and then lift the arm via string or poking stick (i would not recocmend your hand) then it should fall pretty smoothly, just make sure u have a long enough strap for the wench

Dukeis#1 -- what happens when you sit on your Faller HO model? I have pretty high doubts that...
a.) it will support my weight
b.) that I can squeeze my body into those tiny H-O scaled seats.

Back to the actual, lifesize product...
How fast will you be going after 12 feet of drop? Cant you just put a mattress or 2 or something there at the bottom? Maybe a bunch of springs that it hits to eleviate the force.

Word. I can imagine that if you've worked so hard at hooking yourself up with a wench, you wouldn't ever want her to get away. A long strap lets her roam freely to wash the dishes and the laundry, but keeps her from escaping the house.

Good call.

What do I Listen-To?

I think the bungie cords would make it more like a Frog Hopper than a drop ride. Maybe if you would have them seperate from the seat. The bungies could catch before the the bottom so there is a little bit of free fall and they would still have time to slow you down. Then when they would catch it would spring you back up like an S & S tower.

Signature will be closed today. Sorry for the inconveinance.

If I were you, I would work on a brake system for this ride, and test it with water filled jugs or sandbags before anything living goes on it. Safety comes first, please tell me that you will make sure no one is going to get hurt!
How far is the actual drop going to be if it is 12 foot tall? After getting a seat and calculating clearance for legs and feet at the bottom, what will it end up being?

Duhhhh....leg clearance? You mean people there has to be room so that people don't smash their legs on the ground?
