Homemade kiddie drop tower -->an idea that WILL wo

Ok thanks for the comments on the other post. I have found an idea.

While standing in my garage today having no idea how i'll do it I looked at my garage door opener.

I could use a garage door opener b/c it would work perfectly!

The "motor house" is at the top of the ladder. The connecter is at the bottom connectedo to the actual car. The ride starts, brings you to the top and stops. BUT instead of just sitting there attached to the chain, a tension rope, just the right length, will pull tension on the release cord when the rope is tight, therefore when the car is at the top. So the car will be released and the Bungee Cords ;)...Will stop it at the bottom. In the mean time the connecter comes back down, reattaches and brings the car to the top again.

BTW, any ideas for names?

I was thinking "Patriot Plunge" and paint the tower red white and blue.

I'm pretty sure the garage door mechanism isn't meant to hold that much weight pulling down on it.

Cool and confusing.

Heres something I never asked on the other thread: How does the bungee brake work, especially on the "coaster" you made.

Name: Carnie-made Death Drop (The ride wont look professional to guests, and carnies are always portrayed to screw things up on TV...)

It would be really cool if you took the time to make your own mechanism to lift yourself to the top. You might learn something from it.
