My little one is only 14 months old:( Maybe they will have another class in a few years.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
So I checked it out. Our local HD is particpating, no registration required. Good stuff.
And this is another example of how these partnerships pay off. SF is putting tickets into the hands of the 5-12 crowd. The same crowd that can't go to the park unsupervised, so now Johnny has that ticket sitting on his dresser all summer long and starts bugging mom and dad (who will have to buy tickets) - that one 'goodwill' freebie gets kids interested in the coasters (building a coaster is the project) and then builds attendance and revenue.
Hmmm...the embarrassing part will be when all of the coasters constructed by the 5-year olds have better maintenance records than the ones built by Six Flags. ;)
Everytime I read about these kind of things, I can't get the song "Product" by the underground industrial rap-act Consolidated out of my mind. The chorus says it all "Product + Promotion =Profit!"
Picture an 8 year old watching Fairly Odd Parents and not being able to sit still for 2 seconds. Then mom asks her if she wants to go to Home Depot to build a roller coaster car. She immediately sits up straight (and still), eyes wide open, smile creeping on her face and a small nod with a dreamy look in her eyes.
