HollowSwings @ HW looks almost done!!

I just checked out Holiday World's official webcam and was shocked to see that the swings were placed today on Hallowswings. It looks like they have been working really hard on the ride. Does anyone know if the waiting line and operation building for the ride will have a theme, or what it'll look like? Paula, is the park getting some new landscaping for 2003 around the new construction areas? You gies @ HW are doing a great job, keep it up!

By the way, I love the new official website!

Well, it is in the Halloween section so I would only assume it would be themed to Halloween some way. Halloswings, Liberty Launch and Zinga all look great. I can't wait til' SRM. The new website also looks great!

They sure have a lot of rides in the Halloween section! Or at least it sounds like it! Aren't both woodens in Halloween?

Yeah, both wooden rollercoasters are in the Halloween section. Actually, the 4th of July and the Halloween section have about the same amount of rides, the Christmas section is the only section that don't have the greatest amount of rides.

Brandon

As far as landscaping go, I know there have been literally hundreds of trees planted throughout the park. The sad part is, it looks like a good amount of trees had to be taken out for the new path/HallowSwings. Not too big of a deal though, I just hope there is still a decent amount of shade. (Maybe I have no idea what I am talking about ;>))

Christmas has all children's rides, and Halloween is the best section for thrill rides (obviously).

I'll agree, great job HW, I can't wait for May 3.

Don't worry Ryan, there will still be lots of shade. Will Koch is adamant about taking out a tree only when *absolutely* necessary. (In fact, that's the story behind the "s" curve at The Raven--CCI designed the ride to skim the edge of the woods at the bottom of the 5th drop, taking out an entire row of trees. Will suggested the "s" curve, which took the ride into the woods without taking out a bunch of trees.

See...Will went out on a limb, barked "leaf those trees alone!" and the result was the #1 woodie. See the pattern? :)

And yes, we have planted 500 new trees for this year.

Regarding theming, HallowSwings is a work of art! I don't know the specifics about the queue, but I don't think we'll put up anything that will detract from the ride. I wish our webcam could show all the details of the ride--the skulls and bats, etc. It'll be something to see at night!

And regarding which section has the most rides...4th of July, by far.

Thanks, Paula

I'd shovel on a few more puns but I'm afraid I'd get raked over the coals for it.

Keep this up, Matthew, and we will have to ban you from the water park! It Depends on whether you can control yourself... :)

Yes, the Zinga funnel is gigantic--six stories tall and wide! They're hanging the fiberglass this week. Too bad that it's not in view of our webcam, or we'd focus in on the work.

I wondered how long it would take before we heard from you, George!

Don't you just know Moosh flushes with pride whenever I tease him?

I'd better stop there...since I'm at work and all. Wouldn't want to wipe out a great career...

I just visited the webcam again and saw HALLOWSWINGS IN ACTION!!! It looks great! Looks like they were puuting in the lights or just testing the ride. Anyways, just wanted to keep everybody updated.

Brandon

Thank goodness for CoasterBuzz! Without it, I wouldn't know what was going on in my own park! :)

Yes, they were planning to start testing HallowSwings this afternoon (in the snow!).

Testing for Liberty Launch has already begun. Wheeeeee!

And Zinga's fiberglass is going up as we speak.

Busy times... Paula

Snow! I live just out of Jasper, IN and we haven't got any snow. You guys down in Santa Claus must have been the lucky ones Paula! :) Too bad we couldn't see all the action in the park, but I'm counting down the days! Oh and by the way Paula, since you guys started testing HallowSwings, does that mean the operation building is complete, or that construction has started?
