"Almost every park you go to has a B & M coaster."
I dont know what parks you've been to but not almost every park has a B&M If you think about it not even 1/4 of ALL parks have one so lets think before we type.

Lets try and salvage this post from tempers.... back to the original thoughts.
Really, anything HW "gets" in the future is icing to me. I don't think the park really *needs* anything.
No, I take that back. Actually there is something that HW does need.... desperately... A Grande Carousel.
I would trade any possible future coaster or ride installation at HW for a beautiful carousel sitting in the fountain area in front of Kringles Cafe. Imagine a large carousel building there with hand carved reindeer or sleighs etc. The band organ would be real, not cd, heavy on the bells and would churn out Christmas standards such as Rudolf, Have a Holly Jolly, We wish you.., Here come Santa Claus, Jingle Bells etc. etc. etc. Or better yet, Silent Night, Hark the Herald, We Three Kings etc etc etc.
Honestly the investment would be large, probably upards of 5 million. However the return on such is far greater than any 3 or 4 million $ coaster they might build.
To me a park without a Carousel really does not have a "heart" to it's rides. Now the staff and service at HW are what gives HW it's heart, not any particular ride. However this would be a visual reminder of it.
Plus, we have all wanted to know at some time or another what it would be like to ride in Santa's sleigh, or alongside Dasher, Blitzen etc. This would give us the chance.

I really don't think HW needs anything. It is great as it is.
What I might want there is about 2-5 more adult/family rides with a carousel in there.
Chuck, who really isn't a big B&M fan and thinks parks are getting wiser by building $3 million dollar super good coasters instead of $20 million dollar motion simulators. Sorry if that sounded biased toward a good woodie but I think if HW put in A Shivering Timbers type woodie, I would like it even more than any steel coaster out there

I talked briefly with Will Koch at SRM and told him how much I love the park and coasters and that I tell about 50 peeps a week about it.
His reply was simple. The more people they get, The more they will add. :)
Chuck, who says that works for me :)

Although I love the idea of getting a carousel at HW, I would be very sad indeed if they took out their Christmas Square fountain. I for one love the entrance fountain at HW just about as much as anything else at the park. It also makes the area very Bavarian, (fountain in the middle of a square is very common) which the buildings there are representational of...except the Holiday Theater. So please...put the carousel somewhere else!

I don't see them getting a B&M coaster. They are too expensive and Holiday World is a family owned park. They should get a woodie like Timbers. BTW Timbers was only 4 mlllion dollars. They could afford that.
Actually I belive it cost 4.5 million.

Generic, isn't it?
Personally, a dark ride, ala Exterminator at Kennywood, would be the best, IMHO. It's a fun, thrilling ride that all (most) ages would enjoy that would fit their client base more than a big steel coaster.
While most coaster fanatics think parks build for us, it's not true, they have to look at their demographics and while we are a good sized segment of their attendance, we are not their largest, families are.

I haven't been to holiday world and I don't think they need anything. There are alot of good parks out there for steel coasters, but none for wood like Holiday World.

Can we change the name of Top Gun to your mom so no one wants to ride your mom?
HW doesn't "need" anything, it's world class as it stands. But there are several things that would greatly enhance the atmosphere of the park. As mentioned a carousel would be one of my first choices along with a nice ferris wheel. I also wouldn't mind seeing some other flat rides like a Musik Express, swinging ship (if they do have one, then I just forgot about it), whip, and maybe a modern one or two like a frisbee.
As far as coasters are concerned there are only three avenues that I would want to see taken. A new world class woodie would be super. A mouse of some sort would fit in nicely, just have to theme it to one of the holidays. What about instead of mice they were cats, black cats, that would fit into the Haloween theme and could fit behind the high dive show between Raven and Legend. But another idea I have is something akin to LoCoSuMo. People have mentioned they would love to see HW get a dark ride. How about something that starts out like a dark ride but finishes like a roller coaster. One of the things I was thinking about while riding LoCoSuMo was how awesome this concept could be if CCI had as much room as they wanted. Just imagine a slow journey through some type of building with a hidden lift that then sends you on a tremendous journey that cannot be viewed from the paths in the park. Sounds yummy to me.
