Holiday World Trip Tips?

On Saturday, I will be making my first trip to Holiday World. I cannot wait--I have heard so much about the Raven and the Legend. I do have a few questions:

* I will be spending the whole day at the park. How bad will the lines be on a Saturday in June? Will I be able to get several rides (read: ten a piece :)) on the Legend and the Raven?

* Are there any other "don't miss" attractions to especially look for? Also, are there any hidden gems in the park to keep an eye on?

* Where is the best place to eat? I've heard the food is awesome for a theme park.

* Are night rides on the Raven really that good? I don't have to many wooden coasters in my track record, so I guess I'm in for a real treat.

Feel free to include any other trip tips worthy of noting. I will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Tell City, which I've heard is nice (maybe I'll "feel" smart enough to help HW fix a ride or something after my stay ;)). Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

According to the "official" count, next year's new coaster lineup will feature 17 Arrow 4-Ds, 21 TA2Ks, 34 B&M floorless's, 17 Intamin Gigas, 12 beemer flyers, and 247 CCIs. And oh yeah, CP will receive one of all of these.
I'm just giving this a little bump because I too am heading to Holiday World this weekend for the first time. He's covered pretty much all I'm interested in...:)
The lines on a Saturday in June won't be to bad. If the weather is good, lines for the rides in HW will be the longest (nothing compared to corporate parks) an hour after the park opens and an hour before it closes. In between most of the locals are in Splashin' Safari. Getting a ton of rides shouldn't be a problem!

Don't miss Frightful Falls (log flume,) the Banshee, Scarecrow Scrambler, Raging Rapids and the Freedom Train. The High Dive show and Discovery Institute are great.

Take your swimsuit, Splashin' Safari is a blast! And it is included in the admission price. For a wild ride try one of the slides on Otorongo or the Watubee! Enjoy a relaxing time in the wave pool or lazy river

Kringle's Kafe has great pizza, it's also a nice place to relax on a hot day (A/C.)

The Raven is running in the awesome, insane mode! We got airtime this year in places where we had never gotten airtime before. This coaster truly deserves it's #1 ranking!

The Legend is so intense, From the time you speed down the 1st drop until you hit the brake run, it never lets up. You want airtime, you got it! Laterals, you got them! No wonder it was voted the best new woodie of 2000.

During the day both the Raven and Legend are great rides, but as the day wears on they come alive. Try to catch a ride on both just before the park closes.

The Howler is a fun family ride. After one lap riders are usually asked if they want to ride again.

Food and souvenirs are reasonably priced. Don't forget drinks are free and if you are a coaster club member admission is 1/2 price.

Hope my suggestions are helpful and you have a great time!

Raven is hands down, right now, the best coaster in the world. Don't doubt it for a second.

Thanks for the tips. I'm as pumped about going to HW as I was for SFMM last year and CP in 1998. I'm interested to see how the hospitality compares to SDC. SDC is a top notch guest relations park, and it sounds like HW is as well.

While I am not a waterpark fan, I may have to take the swim trunks and try out Splashin' Safari. But the coasters come first, as it should be. And I will definitely try Kringle's Kafe.

Thanks again. This trip is going to be sweet!
