Holiday World & Splashin' Safari President Will Koch announces the appointment of two general managers to the park staff.

“We’ve grown tremendously over the past decade and it is time to add an additional level of management,” says Koch. “Our general managers will each work with a number of our departments to keep park operations and behind-the-scenes activities running smoothly. We’re committed to keeping the ‘small-park feel’ as we grow, and this is one way we will accomplish this goal.”

The two general managers were selected from existing staff:

Matt Eckert is the General Manager of Shared Services. His business unit includes behind-the-scenes departments which support the park’s internal operations, plus admissions and entertainment. Formerly the park’s Controller, Eckert began his tenure with Holiday World & Splashin' Safari in 2000.

Mike Kamp is the General Manager of Guest Experience. His area of responsibility includes park operations, plus maintenance and development. Formerly the park’s Director of Maintenance and Safety, Kamp has been employed at Holiday World & Splashin' Safari since 2004.

Koch, who continues as park president and CEO, heads up the third business unit, which includes the Marketing, Sales, and Public Relations departments.

Holiday World opens for the season on May 3 with the premiere of Star Spangled Carousel and Reindeer Games; Splashin' Safari’s opening day is May 10, with the debut of the monkey-themed Kima Bay family waterplay attraction.

Blogged about it the other day ... take a look here if you want to see their photos and my oh-so-corporate commentary. :)

I hope operations and friendlyness as well as some daily apearances by the Koch Family remain.

Albeit on my last few visits I seen them several times a day from AM till after closing (I understand the move)

It's the only park I've ever seen a director and not security walk in a line and remove line jumpers and then escort them out of the park :) .

Chuck

Oh, yeah, none of that is changing, not to worry.
