Holiday World attendance up substantially over last year

Posted | Contributed by Raven Maven

Although not halfway through the season yet, Holiday World officials report attendance is up 21.4 percent over last season. Will Koch, the park's president and chief executive officer, said Tuesday about 233,000 visitors have been admitted to the park since it opened for the season May 4. Last year, which itself became a record year for attendance, the count stood at 192,000 at this point in the season.

Good job, HW!

I liked Will Koch's statements at the end of the article...

See ya next summer, HW!

Yeah, why have two of the best woodies in the world when you can have three?

The more I hear about Holiday World, the more I want to go. Everything about this park is good news. SRM 2003, here I come!

My two favorite coasters are named Superman.

And it's still a wonderful place. I saw Raven Maven on TV in Louisville last night talking about the parks attractions.

You guys are torturing me with this place! I ned to get out there in a very big way. It's only a 20 hour drive! Somehow I know it will be well worth it.
It IS a great place and WORTH the drive.
I was at Hardees 2 days ago and I saw a promo on the drive up window for HW. I live south of Ft. Wayne. That is a 5 to 6 hour drive. I also saw my first HW commercial this year on TV and began hearing them on the radio too. I've seen several of them actually. I hope they continue this trend. It makes HW seem a little closer to home.

I think the HW crew should host a seminar for all the other park chains on how to make successful parks without having to spend millions upon millions. They've done some serious magic down in Santa Claus, and it just seems to get better every year. Easily my favorite road trip of the summer. I can't wait to see what they got in store for us in the future...
