Holiday World... are things going bye-bye?

Hmmmm, I have a sneaky suspicion that a ride might be dissapearing from Holiday World..... and being replaced with one of the new attractions.....hmmmm what could it be?

Maybe I am just being paranoid, but I guess I am just recalling a ride that had a bit of "trouble" this year. Hmmmmmmm......

Could it be? ;-)

I am very happy for Holiday World. Will is predicting a 10% increase on attendance next season. I hope they do 20% like this season! Just think if they do top a 10% increase next year, that means that their attendance will have jumped by 30% over 2001. That is incredible! That is the type of results that other parks would kill for. Must mean that HW is doing things right... but then we all knew that.

Thanks to the great people of HW for the fun times we have had, and the fun times we have yet to have!

Are you referring to... Banshee? I hope they don't lose it. Banshee is one of my favorites.

Cornball Express anyone?

Yup, Banshee is history. At least we had some good laughs.

Yes Pauls says Banshee is out for 2003, (sucks!) What kind of trouble was it having this year?

HW & IB, I love living in Indiana!

From what I heard it was blowing fuses at an alarming rate, mostly.

I hate to be anal, but since Shaggy is a tv star and all I just wanted to make sure he didn't make a math mistake in public.

If Holiday World grows attendance by 10% next year, on top of a 20% spurt this year, it's not 30% improvement. It's compounding at play here -- so the attendance would actually be 32% higher.

There I go, whining like a Banshee.

I looked forward to riding the Banshee with my friends every time I went to HW. I will deeply miss that ride. Is it going to be sold to any other park?

Anyone know if it is something that could be repairable?

I love the Falling Star type rides and hate seeing them close. I don't recall any parks taking delivery of a new one recently either.

Waiting for the CP announcement to be made so that about 1000+ posts will be made complaining about it.

I'm sure it is.. Some parks have rides that are maintenance nightmares, so they trade them off for something new or new to them. One of my clients traded their fabbri top spin for a new fabbri Mega drop small park model this past season. Ride brokers usually have no problem getting rid of them if they are in good shape. Usually parks or carnival owners scoop up the good flats rather quickly. But, if it is a POS, they sit in the broker's lot rusting away... That's why most of the crappy rides are so cheap.

Thank goodness you corrected me! Did I have a case of hte dums or what? Hey, being bad at match skills is the exact reason I ride coasters and don't engineer them ;-)
