Holiday World and Splashin Safari, 5/15

Hey everybody,

Finally got out to the park for the Splashin Safari opening day. Just wanted to do a brief review and let you all know how Jungle Racers is.

Got my discounted season pass thanks to my Cbuzz card...and got into the park about Noon. First stop was Raven, which was running absolutely amazing for only being two weeks into the season. Could have been the rain that helped, but I was pleasantly surprised.

From there I went down the hill to Legend, where I found a 10 minute wait. Not bad at all, but I'm spoiled by the normal walk-on's at the beginning of the season. Just like the Raven, Legend delivered, and the new wood was definatly noticeable on the first drop, as well as the raised entrance to the helix. Awesome.

On to the water park, cold as all get out, but I had a mission. Went straight for Jungle Racers. I have to admit, I felt Jungle Racers was going to have a hard time living up to Zinga. After riding it, I can't say which ride I liked better.

To start with, the ride is massive. The slope begins to look steeper and steeper as you get closer. You get the countdown and then pushoff down the slide. A bit of mist in your face but not too bad, the first hump is just plain fun, and the second drop one-up's that. It's just a plain fun ride. I manage to ride ina all 10 lanes throughout the day, and I enjoyed the lanes on the sides best, because the pink siding adds a nice sensation of speed. One question I have is, where is the finish line? There is about 70 feet of leveled off slide, but it's not clear where the finish is. No complaints though, it's a great addition to the park, and it will be a great people-eater come the crowded summer months. Cool, Holiday World! :)

The finish line is obviously the runout. Double-down water slides are fun, but the one that drop all the way are the best.

The finish line is obviously the runout.

That's what you'd think...but I saw one person all day actually make it all the way to the end of the straightaway. Most people only made it about halfway across before they lost their momentum.
