Holiday World 7/14

On the way back to Texas from northern Indiana, we always stop by Owensboro, KY to visit family. I had been bugging my mom about stopping at Holiday World already on the trip because I had never been and wanted to try out the Raven and the Legend. Well, my cousins in KY had to leave for a funeral, so my mom decided we should go to Holiday World. Sweet!
We got there a little after opening and went straight to the Raven. I have never ridden a CCI before this day. I am now a fan! The Raven is proof that you don't have to be big to have big fun. This is a sweet ride that is still pretty smooth and the run through the woods is awesome! The pair of misters hidden along the course are nice and refreshing too! Me and my fiancee ended up with 3 rides on the Raven this day.
Next we headed to the Legend. OH MY! This ride is all that and a box of chocolates! This is worth the price of admission alone! Great speed! Smooth! I love how the Gerstauler trains scream around the track and sound almost like a B&M. The smell of cedar in the tunnels is cool too! This ride is just so cool. Non stop action from drop to finish. There was 1 real good pop of air around the back of the course near the waterpark that nearly had me standing up, too! I love it! Definately a #1 woodie spot for me! We ended up with 3 rides on this one too.
We spent a few hours wandering around the park and checking out some of the other rides. We spent a little time in the waterpark too. This is a neat little park. The free soft drinks deal is wonderful too! That can spoil a person! We picked up a few souveniers and an on ride photo from The Legend.
We left around 4:30 or so to get on the road and head back south, but I had a great time at Holiday World. It is definately a place I will visit again! I really noticed that nearly all of the ride ops and staff were very cheerful and seemed to really enjoy their jobs. I like that. Keep up the good work. I will return!
