Just a short TR. Decided to make a trip to HW at the last minute to get in a few last rides on Raven and Legend. We left St. Louis about 8:00pm Saturday night and got a room the the Motel 6 in Dale so we wouldn't have to make the drive in the morning. We pulled up around 9:45am to find 15 - 20 cars in the parking lot (at which point we knew it would be a good day). The weather was cool and sunny, just the way I like it. After using my CB card to get in for $14.95 (gratuitous plug) we stood around and talked to Santa until they opened the park.

Started with back-to-back rides on both Raven and Legend. They were both running great. Raven still slightly edges out Legend for me, but not by much. The fourth (or is it fifth?) drop was giving stand-up air. Legend felt smoother than it had at SRM and was giving serious pops in the front. They were only running a single train, but it ran partially full all day. If the line for your seat was empty when you got back they just let you stay in. If it wasn't you could just move to an empty seat.

Since I like flats as much as coasters we hit the rest of the park. I finally went on Banshee, since they are taking it out. I had never made it on before this trip since we have one at SFStL. What a mistake! Banshee runs much faster than ours. Oh well, too bad I waited so long. Got in several rides on Eagle's Flight (but couldn't get a snap), Tilt-O-Whirl, Octopus and Roundhouse. Also hit the Bumper Cars a few times. Ours don't go backwards, so these are a treat.

We had a great time. Got in enough rides to hold me over to SRM next year. No waits for any rides. I think we'll be doing this next year.

Generic, isn't it?

You're not kidding about Banshee... It makes the one at SFStL look like a kiddie ride...

It is the 5th hill on Raven that you are refering too (and yes just about the best ejector air I have seen especially all day during the GOCC event!)

Sean- anxiously waiting for SRM 03!!

For the flyers.. what exactly does "snapping" mean?

I was on their flyers this summer too and couldnt get them to snap. I hear they are unsnappable.

Snapping the flyers is when you move the tub in such a way, that the cables attaching it to the center pivot shake violently and make a snapping sound.

I wish they weren't getting rid of Banshee, but the wave swinger will fit in better. (theme)

Arrow, even the straight parts of our coasters hurt.
