Holiday in the Park (SFoT)

Ok. Since I am bored (its that time of the year again) I decided to look into this Holiday in the Park thing at SFOT. Considering I live in Austin, I figured I may as well go. So here is my question. Is it worth it?

How many rides are exspected to be down for off season matniance? Has anyone else gone? If so, what were your reactions?

Check the SF website:

Attention: The Bumper Cars, Flashback, Kiddie Train, Roaring Rapids, Ozarka Splash, Splashwater Falls, Casa Magnetica, Chute Out, Oil Derrick, Batman, Mr. Freeze, the Texas Giant, the Wildcatter will close for HIP. Also, Turbo Bungee will close December 23. Stay tuned for these Six Flags favorites to re-open in 2006!!

That said, Holiday in the Park is still really nice and there's lots of other activities going on.

How are the crowds?
The crowds vary. The weekends between Thanksgiving and Christmas can be busy but the crowd is usually pretty tolerable. The week between Christmas and New Years is usually wall to wall people, especially if the weather is dry.

Well... I was soposed to go yesterday, but my friend bailed on me at the last minute. So I said why go up there for 3 hours by myself. And today I'm busy. I might try to go next weekend. I really want to go there, cosnidering I have never been to SFoT

If you've never been it's a pretty good introduction to the park, but a LOT of the major coasters are down for the event : Freeze, Batman, Flashback and Texas Giant are all scheduled to be down 'til next spring. Titan and S:TOP were on and off this evening.

The xmas shows are typical, lines aren't too long but would be a whole lot shorter with less a few more rides running, and the only really remarkable thing, as far as I was concerned, was the sledding hill (which was cool). The decorations were also pretty nice. *** Edited 11/28/2005 7:43:40 PM UTC by ApolloAndy***
