History of BGW

Was Busch Gardens Williamsburg built by A & B?? Or was it bought by them but built by someone else Does any one have inof/links to the history of the park and why it was built where it was. I really like the park and havent heard much regarding the history of the park.

Sent you an e-mail with a Busch Gardens timeline site. It's in need of an update. But, it's fantastic.
I've heard the reason it was built in Williamsburg was because of the high tourism already in the area, which gave the park a better chance of being profitable.

I've also heard that AB had looked at locations in North Carolina and Tennessee, but they ended up on Virginia because of what I said above.

Williamsburg also had railroad connections, which was good for shipping products out of the brewery.

I believe it was built in Williamsburg because they allready had the land (brewery nearby) and Augest Busch II loved the town. Being close to DC, the Beach and Richmond proably didnt hurt too.
