Hillcrest's LD coming to Little AMerrikA

Hillcrest park's Little Dipper was auctioned off today and was bought by Little A-Merrik-A in Marshall, Wisconsin. Go to RCDB.com for what little info is provided.

Have to admit, I was hoping it would go someplace where I'd be more likely to visit, but this is good news nonetheless....

A Schmeck junior is a great thing to have, congratulations to the new owners! :)

Well Gator, if you are going to make a trip to Big Chiefs, then Little-A-Merrik-A is a park you can make a pit stop at since in your case, it would be on the way.

This is great news for the Little Dipper. The folks at Little-A-Merrik-A know how to take care of their rides.

Uh Oh. Little A-Merrik-A has a coaster already named Little Dipper. Decisions, decisions. :)

No WAY, are you serious...I was under the impression that they listed the coaster at 35K. I guess, all things considered, all you really get is the lumber in the end, but still, it's lumber blessed by Herb Schmeck....;)

What happens at the end of The Neverending Story?
Well, I must say I'm very happy to see another coaster enter Wisconsin. I only hope this can draw big enough crowds to Little A-merrick-a so that their attention isn't focused on the few riders riding in the park (I felt like everybody in the park was watching me whenever I rode anything and I thought that kind of sucked.) Unfortunately, I don't think this park will every develop into anything truly worthwhile with it's location 4 miles off the freeway and adjacent to a cemetary. Of course, I'd love to be proven wrong and have the park prosper but, let's face it, as fun as this coaster looks, it won't have the draw that the Lincoln Park Comet may have had.

I do not think the park will have a noticeable increase in attendance with this new addition unless if they try to maybe market it a little (I haven't seen a Little A-merrick-a commercial on TV since they purchased Little Dipper and Mad Mouse.)

It was an auction, Gator...you don't always get list/asking price. According to Bruce Cassi of NAPHA it went for $9K.

I just might have to make a trip to Little A-merrick-A in 2004. I have been wanting to go there. Now I have an excuse to do so.

I'd suggest waiting until 2005 for that visit....

Man, for 9k I could have made that investement, though I would be erecting it myself it would take me over 5 or so months so I'd have to hand it over to the Coaster Preservation Organization.

Ooooo, a Schmeck Junior less than an hour away from me? This is pretty cool! I wonder what the turnaround time on deconstruction at Hillcrest and reconstruction at Little A'merrick'A will be.

Wow, this is great news! I was worried that we were losing a Schmeck... a sad thought, regardless of how small it is.

I am curious to know who had the stones to place that ad at ride trader .com as the exclusive broker for $35K. Just curious.
